I assume you're looking at getting an eSIM rather than a physical SIM?
I'm good with either.
A physical SIM from Three would need activating in the UK. An eSIM should activate outside of the UK but it might be worth checking with Three.

McDonald’s Ice Cream Machine Hackers Say They Found the ‘Smoking Gun’ That Killed Their Startup
Kytch, the company that tried to fix McDonald’s broken ice cream machines, has unearthed a 3-year-old email it says proves claims of an alleged plot to undermine their business.
(Amazing jorb, wired home page. Pop up some bullshit about subscription halfway across the screen, I dismiss. Scroll , get the same popup again. Dismiss, repeat 3 times: well, looks like you’ve already read 3 of our stories for free, it’s subscription time now. Pops up another thing full screen that can’t be dismissed.)
As ever, wish I hadn’t said anything at all let alone something half-tongue-in-cheek over the fact that the previous conversation asserted a great deal more than the singular fact being claimed. Specifically that damn near everything was political all the time according to you and that I was in the wrong for so much as breathing an idea (not even the one I agreed with you about)
Don’t worry, you can have this garage back too.

Everyone does it wrong sometimes. Some people do it wrong a whole lot more than others.
Artificial Intelligence can have good uses:
Maker uses Raspberry Pi and AI to block noisy neighbor's music by hacking nearby Bluetooth speakers
Roni Bandini, a maker and developer, has created a Raspberry Pi-powered device that detects and distorts Reggaeton music played by his neighbors. The device, which uses machine learning to identify the music genre, is a fun experiment and its legality varies depending on location.
My noisy neighbors are too far away for bluetooth interference, but the project may help other WDTWTFers.

Yay! More time to every day!
Unlikely. You'd now get 9.67 hours of work per day instead of 8h. If you're on an hourly contract, great. If you're on a fixed contract, you'll be screwed over.

Determinants of COVID-19 vaccine-induced myocarditis
...
Results:
We found the number of myocarditis reports in VAERS after COVID-19 vaccination in 2021 was 223 times higher than the average of all vaccines combined for the past 30 years. This represented a 2500% increase in the absolute number of reports in the first year of the campaign when comparing historical values prior to 2021. Demographic data revealed that myocarditis occurred most in youths (50%) and males (69%). A total of 76% of cases resulted in emergency care and hospitalization. Of the total myocarditis reports, 92 individuals died (3%). Myocarditis was more likely after dose 2 (p < 0.00001) and individuals less than 30 years of age were more likely than individuals older than 30 to acquire myocarditis (p < 0.00001).

Apparently having the graphics split into two contexts like that causes issues, who knew?

To address stuff mentioned before in the thread...In general, I think it's rare for ads to directly lead to sales in most cases. It's more about building brand recognition, where you're more likely to trust something you've heard of. Like everyone else, I have no idea how well all that works, but I'm highly skeptical that there's no effect.
That's got to be a fine balance though.
While I'm sure it works to some degree subconsciously (and one reason I go out of my way to block ads as much as possible is that I don't want it to work), there's also the ads that I recognize consciously and then make an active effort to avoid their crap.
Hercules will contribute to the reptile park's antivenom program. Safely captured spiders handed in by the public undergo "milking" to extract venom, essential for producing life-saving antivenom.
For once, something that ends well.

No, it's that the scraper tool that found that link discovered it had no <title> tag and therefore has no title. This is in no way surprising because it's one of those fucking horrific pages that is one line of text (sorry, you need JS) and just a shedload of JS in the body to actually populate the site with anything because Pantone are a bunch of hipsters who give no fucks about usability.
Years ago, when Steve Martin was primarily known as a standup comedian, he told a joke that went something like:
I guess I can tell you this now, my real name is Gern Blanston. You might be familiar with some of the books I've written. There's my financial series, Earn With Gern, and my educational series, Learn With Gern.
Or something like that. It was a very long time ago and the only thing I remember clearly is the name.
