5 games for $0
-
Kind of. If you don't own Hell Yeah! at all, you get all the DLCs. If you do own the base game, there's no "Install Game" link (other than the normal "this game is already in your library" one) and you don't get the DLCs for free.
In other news, Hell Yeah! looks like the most visually noisy game I've ever seen. In half of the gameplay screenshots I can't even identify where the main character is.
-
If you press 'install game' on any of them, the whole package ends up in your library.
53 games for $0
-
Oh really? Then the bug is Steam doesn't show I own the Hell Yeah! DLCs on the store page, but that's less annoying a bug.
-
I didn't already have the base game, so I can't say that for absolute sure, but I know that while the games themselves in the list don't say they're in my library (except JSR, which I already had), they do on their pages.
-
I don't recall if I had any (or all) of the games already but when I found the pack on my phone it gave me an "Install Game" button on the bundle page and my history shows "Make War Not Love 3 - Prize 1" so I assume Steam can figure it out.
-
So.... another year, another Steam summer sale. Here are some of the purchases I just made:
Torchlight 1 and 2 are well regarded indie action RPG-s. I was never much of a fan of this genre, but I recently had a lot of fun with Grim Dawn, so I decided to give them a try.
FTL is a well known strategic "roguelite". I played it a bunch, and enjoyed it very much once I figured out how to cheat my way out of permadeath. For some reason I didn't have it on Steam. Can't remember if I pirated it or bought it on a different platform. But I guess 3 euro are worth the convenience and peace of mind.
SanctuaryRPG is a really good menu-driven RPG. It doesn't look like much, but plays really well. I bought this direct from author a year ago, and now I used the sale to get it into Steam library and buy the author another cup of coffee.
I never played Death Skid Marks, but it looked pretty cool in the video, so I took it for 2.5 euros. Some kind of top-down racing FTL.
Finally, Spelunky. I liked the old free version very much, but never really got into this new, remastered edition. I figured for 3e, I'll give it another shot.
-
@cartman82 I suppose now would be a bad time to mention that Spelunky was basically free if you bought something in the GOG Summer Sale that just ended? And if you already owned you, you could claim a key to give it to someone else instead?
-
@powerlord yup. I probably already bought it earlier too. Tis the fate of those who sometimes buy off steam.
-
I'm probably out of the loop but I just discovered https://chrono.gg/ ... again! (I found I had a folder for their emails...)
Some youtubers have a paid link deal with them too if you want to support them.

Check back tomorrow. There will be a new game. I probably should of mentioned that in my original post.
-
@DogsB Yes, you probably should of.
-
@DogsB I don't get it. Is Chrono.gg a development company who made Train Valley, or...? WTF is that site.
-
If you like tower defence games, Gemcraft - Chasing Shadows is 75% off.
Or a tower defence/strategy hybrid, Creeper World 3: Arc Eternal is 80% off.
I've greatly enjoyed both game series. Get both for less than $5*.
* I don't know non-US prices.

Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns is 50% off starting tomorrow. Today for Europeans.
-
@ben_lubar Maybe that'll finally spur me to upgrade my account, even though I never play the bloody thing.
-
@e4tmyl33t do you remember any of your characters' names? There's room in the TDWTF guild.
-
@ben_lubar I know the two I used to play.
Armelthelae is my 78 mesmer. Thellessa (not quite sure if there's one or two Ls involved at the moment).
If I remember right, I can join that one without having to remove them from or disband my personal one, correct?
-
@e4tmyl33t you can join up to 5 guilds per account.
-
Free, apparently.

Before Mass Effect there was KotOR. but i think the good one was KotOR 2.

Evoland
Pretty fun, if quite short. The gimmick is that it starts off with super basic graphics and controls and you gradually "evolve" the game through console generations, including fake load times in the ps1 era. It means the gameplay is quite varied as that goes through various RPG styles too
-
@Jaloopa I'm just wondering how well that would work on mobile, though. It has a whole Zelda-vibe in the middle part of the game.
-
I have a Steam Key for:
Telltale Walking Dead: Michonne
Tabletop SimulatorClaimedIf anyone wants a "give me steam", pm me a "fuck you".

Origin

@homoBalkanus I just noticed my Origin account got hacked and username and email were changed. Three years ago.
-
I forget exactly how long I've had an EA account, but it's got to be at least five years now. It lay idle for a few years, and when I revived it (in 2015, I think), I checked the details in it were correct. Which they were, with one exception: my birthdate. Which, for some unknown reason, was actually @accalia's birthdate. And it was set long before I even knew @accalia.
I never did work out why it was that.

Sounds like a good way to meet someone?

Given I'd have to meet the person first in order to find out I've somehow got their birthdate on my profile, I'm not sure it's a viable strategy.
-
@RaceProUK I bet it's @accalia trolling you in subtle way.
It's a miracle she didn't typo it :P
-
-
-
@homoBalkanus Just make sure you already have an Ars account - it seems their backend got broken by all the inrush of new members.
-
@JBert Hopefully their "forgot password" feature works by the time I get home
I think I already have it on Steam anyway
-
@hungrier said in Game Deals Thread:

Then you should be able to redeem it on GOG using the CD-Key from Steam.
-
It's possible I've already done that as well; I don't recall.
I do wish they'd continue the thing where they let you import Steam games into GOG. After the first handful of games I don't think there was ever any update.
-
@hungrier They aren't seemingly announcing it, or putting a link to it, but it's still there. I'm guessing at this point, it's just a "keep checking back periodically" sort of deal. Right now, if you have the Saint's Row games, they'll import those.
