I know I don't pronounce it in Montréal.
-
@zecc without... but if you do, they might respond to you in French... or you can be uncultured and pronounce the T like the rest of us anglophones. (Mon-tree-y'all)
@Lorne-Kates Pacific Mall parking is fun... the spots are narrower, so it's hard mode...

Especially for Asians.

Huh, I would have pronounced it "mun-trail". Oh well...
-
@zecc said in Discussion of NodeBB Updates:
So, Canadians...
Should I pronounce the t in Montreal, yes or no?
I pronounce "Let's go West instead."

Yes this exactly. For more information about Quebetiquette, check out the documentary Bon Cop, Bad Cop

Why, do they compensate by driving bigger vehicles?

Sacre blue! That might be a problem. Their idea of French is ... special.

God ... the quotes page at IMDB alone is hilarious ...
Iris Ward: What are you doing here?
Johnathan Ward: I just saved my dad.
David Bouchard: From what? Heart attack by watching curling on TV?Martin Ward: [Ward is angry about their car exploding] Merde de shit de merde de fuck de TABERNAC!

You're getting confused. The ones south of the border can't elect an effective leader
We purposefully designed our system of government to make them less effective. That's eroded over the years, alas.

Hey @ben_lubar, what's new in NodeBB land? We've got 1.6.0, 1.6.1, and a few security fixes since the last posted update.
-
NodeBB v1.6.0 features a completely re-written templating engine, Benchpress.
Should be "interesting" to see what y'all get up to with that.
There is also now a post approval queue for new users.
Hmm...we already have that, so we're obviously somewhere past 1.5.3.
-
@boomzilla We're on "280 commits ahead of 1.5.3, but 5 behind 1.6.0". Or "Version g158e47e" if you prefer.
-
Feature request: An option in the post queue to allow the post but put it in the spam category with the links neutered.

prettier (emails)
We've got those too. (I would do a screenshot, but I'm in the middle of updating the OS, and seems I need a reboot before I can save images apparently .)

I'd settle for the post queue to retain the formatting of the post rather than printing
raw
and omitting linefeeds....

****Need funny name for NodeBB update**** update
Welcome back, @LB_
-
Is this new?
The funny part is I didn't even edit this setting from its previous value of 25. I was editing an unrelated setting.
-
hu-uh:
-
@accalia
The best part is, the drop down shows "every upvote" for me as my current option now, but I'm not getting notifications on every upvote. It'll be interesting to see if I'm still getting 1 5 10 25 50, or if I'm getting 1 10 20 30... or something else entirely.
-
Something's wrong with the category descriptions, and subcategories are being parked out in the backyard.
-
I love being a beta tester!

Ooh, new feature! I'll set them to 50 for now. Anyone have any other ideas for what they should be?

@ben_lubar What's supposed to be the difference between
Posts per Page
andMaximum posts per page
?

?The maximum is what the user can set it to. The non-maximum is the default and the setting for logged-out users.

Ben, what the hell is an "unreplied topic" and why would I want to see a list of them?
-
I'm replying here because I can't create a new Topic
@ben_lubar :
The up vote currently takes me to the top of the page
Chrome on android.
Also the 'create topic' button is broken...

That sounds very useful in something like our help categories. Except that almost nothing around here goes without replies for very long.
-
@boomzilla said in Discussion of NodeBB Updates:

Does it? I can't even guess what it means.
Topic with no replies? Topic I personally haven't replied to (this was my guess until I read your post)? Topic that had replies but then the replies were deleted making it now "unreplied"?
-
@blakeyrat topic that was not created via "reply as topic"?
-
@lb_ Exactly.
It amazes me when people like Boomzilla can see something like "unreplied topics" and instantly come up with some kind of definition and then assume their definition is true. (And who knows, he might even be right.)
Meanwhile, I'm just sitting here confused.

You are very weird.
Also, having just tried it, it does support my theory, since all of the topics have only the OP. So I guess at least your amazement is not misplaced.
-
@boomzilla said in Discussion of NodeBB Updates:
You are very weird.
No doubt. However, that does not mean "unreplied topics" is an intuitive phrase with an obvious meaning.
-
@blakeyrat Yes, it's awkward, and there's some ambiguity over whose replies it references but I don't think it's really terribly cryptic.
Labels like that are hard to do well. I'll bet if you looked you could find where that particular phrase was bikeshedded.

Is anyone having issues with editing posts? When I edited a post, it saved the revision but the post continued to display the original revision even after hard refresh. Here's the post in question.

Ugh, I had a feeling this would happen with the way my caching thing works. I'll try to figure it out.

Well, alrighty then.

Happened to me once. Editing it a second time, the edit "took".
-
I must say, I'm not fond of it saying "Recent Topics" where it used to say "Home".
I'm referring to the (tab) title bar, of course. And it is the recent topics, but I kinda liked having it say "Home".
Okay, okay, I'll shut up now...
-
@anotherusername Home, where everything is not the same as it was before.
-
.... This broken thread progress bar is going to irritate me, isn't it?
-
-
Good to see translations are hard at work....
-
As of this update it seems like infini-scroll is breaking more often than it did before. I don't know what happens, but it seems like every once in a while some switch flips and at that point topics and topic lists will not load anything past the initial load, until I refresh the browser.
-
@hungrier That's been happening to me on mobile regularly for months. I think any jitter in connection kills the web sockets
-
-
@pie_flavor @fbmac . There's your answer.
