@Tsaukpaetra The video is supposed to be done early Dec (but it's not a how-to) - if you're just looking for Centennial stuff, there's a bunch on MSDN now - and an extension is available for VS2015 (converter). (google 'centennial app')

Yeah, I have a bunch of stuff downloaded apparently, but not sure how to use it outside of following a bunch of powershell scripts...

I have to say, we "cheated" on the conversion. MS used us as a test - so we were able to simply take the result and then tweak it for our needs. Did simplify our lives!

Yeah, pretty much that.
Only this is a professor saying this.
That's ridiculous.
Oh wait, never mind, it's a professor saying it. That's perfectly normal, carry on.

So, what, the initialize a eleven-long array to store ten items? How would that be any less confusing?
Edit: semi-
. I gotta stop doing that...

I actually had a "computer science" teacher in high school that couldn't figure out why code with that sort of syntax wouldn't compile.

Personally I just spent 13 seconds just trying to understand what was trying to be accomplished.

I never liked this saying, but the converse has a bit of truth for me. I majored in physics in college. Tried teaching high school physics for several years and completely failed. So I went back to doing physics and found building particle accelerators was easier than teaching physics (and chemistry and biology and algebra (it wasn't a very good school)).
-
@MZH the original meaning, AIUI, is more "those who can, do. Those who can't do any more, because they've been doing it their whole life and are now too old, teach the less experienced so their skills aren't lost."
Those who can't do either still end up teaching PE though

Status: Yesterday I came in to discover the site I maintain was utterly broken.
Server Error in '/' Application
level broken. Turns out it was an unrelated change on the same server that somehow affected my site without bringing down the thing that was actually changed. The helpdesk ticket that was raised didn't actually get assigned to me until after I'd been told about the outage by someone else, worked out what had happened and rolled back the other update. However, because the site is my responsibility, I have to fill in a major incident report and attend a meeting explaining what happened and how we will make sure it doesn't happen again.
On the plus side, this might serve as impetus for them to approve the staging server I've been wanting, and identify the many differences between the test and live servers so I can get some idea why this didn't happen in test

meh, it's not that hard, you have components that are pure functions, and then you have props, but also you have internal state if you don't want a pure component.
then there's the component lifecycle, and componentShouldUpdate and...
BRB, i need a drink to keep writing.
