I'm not leading anything.

@aliceif that's only because we won't follow you.
-
@boomzilla Feel free to try again. I'll post the answer later today.

Status: One advantage of being at home: I've actually been writing test cases. For the moment, they're just checking that the sort of strings we send and receive over the wire interconvert with the model objects, but since screwing that up would mean incredibly difficult to debug errors and the web API in question is exposed to collaborators, it's a really good thing to have nailed and tested.
Apart from that, been βtestingβ fine coffee and dainty Italian cakes.

status america you dumb fucks don't come crying to us after the first 100 days when you realize the rich, white, racist businessman isn't actually helping the working class and urban population, and is instead using the unfettered power of the white house to further his own business dealings.

@Lorne-Kates first act will be to bigly reduce taxes for billionaires with bad hair and towers named after them

I copied a test from one project to another. It calls a library to get some values. It prints the values to a log. It passes. AFAICT, unless that library function can throw some kind of error, there is no way this test can ever fail.

Figures, and I still can't claim shovels and lye as expenses on my tax return.

This is literally the most confusing thing you've ever said. I don't know how even.

Huh? That's one of the few things he's ever said that I thought made sense.
-
@Lorne-Kates before he could get here to (figuratively) say he felt sick, his body made him actually sick

That would have been true no matter which one of them won.

I read it as "I was going to come here to do X, but my body me... therefore my body came here to do X before I came here to do X".
Anyways, clarified like butter. Get well soon @Fox .

Status: A new client has asked us to do an integration for them with one of their existing systems. I wrote an email yesterday asking about their application and the database it runs on.
Our databases are Visual FoxPro.
This is worse than the election.

Status: Off to the doc to talk about my MRI results and find out why my ankle has been hurting nonstop for the past three months. The top two contenders right now (based on my Internet research ) are a contusion on the talus (best-case scenario because it means full recovery, albeit very long and slow), or damaged/torn cartilage near the talus (worst-case scenario because that kind of injury never really heals properly and will force unwanted lifestyle change on me, and I'm way too young for that crap).

ASDESIGNED_WONTFIX
My prediction: it will only get worse. As the two parties continue their race to the center, they have to escalate the apparent polarization in order to preserve the illusion of choice.

Status: fuck you and your fucking composite half-natural keys. What's your goddamn problem with IDENTITY columns? Are you keeping your DB on a fucking Datasette that 4 or 8 bytes per record is that much of an issue? And while we're at it, it would be nice if you did consistently use either INTs or BIGINTs for IDs, instead of having us mess with the distinction in the application code.

I wouldn't be surprised if that happens everywhere - it certainly happens here in .nl as well. However, we have a many-party system, and over time naturally new extremist parties emerge as old converging parties merge.

Answer: Neither. There was nothing in the MRI to explain my pain.

Note to the elderly, inexperienced, timid, and those from cultures prone to overcaution: Driving 10 mph below the speed limit when the flow of traffic is 5 over does not make you a safer driver.
