@BernieTheBernie My browser somehow got banned from my health insurance website, it won't even load. Works fine if I do it in an incognito window.
That would suggest a problem with your cookies.

A CD sized optical disk will also fit on an angle grinder.
I guess some people like grindcore music.
No, I had no idea it existed and just looked it up for the pun and yes, it's very bad.
What? You don't like Cattle Decapitation? pleb

Why should my results change depending on if all the classmates are geniuses or morons?
More interesting question: how do you compare the capability of two teachers, or two curricula if the outcome is fixed?
Issues with tests aside.
Give both classes a test from an independent third party and the class with the test results falling at or better then the bell curve is the better teacher.

Be the smartest one in the class and set the curve, problem solved.

Server performance history
We get write failures during our nightly processes occasionally that we can't track down. One possibility is that something is running on the server and causing issues, short of spending all night monitoring the server does anyone know of software (for Windows) that can provide that kind of information? So far running these same processes (they are mostly reports) during the day has not run into problems.
What I would like is running process, cpu usage, ram usage, disk usage and network usage as snapshots (every minute or so) throughout the night. If I can get more information all the better, but I would like to start there.
Tomorrow I get to try and break out dev box and see if I can cause the same issues there.

RE: Driving Anti-Patterns - Necro Edition
Google believes that the street near my office is a through street. It is not, it dead ends at a ~40' drop into a rail yard. If you make it through that there is a creek and than a 10' climb out to get back on the road.
2 maybe 3 dozen people a day turn around in front of the new improved barriers after a car almost made it through the old ones last winter.

RE: Today in reading the headlines...
Unless I have misread the article, it seemed to imply both. Someone that knew their material and knew how they test should have done well.

This article is simply pointing out that this a bad test.... your point may very well be that most other tests are bad too (which I don't disagree with), but doesn't invalidate the point of the article.
Uh, I don't think the article is saying that at all.
βTherefore credit to the State Examinations Commission for delivering a fair paper on the day.β
βOverall, students will likely leave the hall tired yet content with a very manageable and fair paper,β he added.
βThose who had practiced their accounting and past examination questions well over the last two years, and didnβt panic under the time constraints, will be happy with this paper.β
Unless the entire article is sarcastic they are giving high praise to the test team for creating a test that was challenging yet manageable.

Yeah, sure.
Hey, it can happen. The other day I wrote 2 entire lines of code and had no compiler errors.

RE: Curl inconsistently mutates uploaded files
Have you tried tarring (or any other archive) the entire project and making the entire thing binary?

Consider, for example, naval combat between two ships A and B. A completely outclasses B β better armed, better armored, almost invulnerable to anything B can throw at it... B wins.
See Battle off Samar for this happening in real life.

So is this "business" of yours creating "content" or shilling garbage then?
AIUI, most successful streamers' primary income is from sponsorships outside of Twitch (or any other platform), so if that stuff isn't allowed any more then they'll have to take a big pay cut by relying only on subscriptions and donations. Turns out playing video games isn't a lucrative career unless advertisers pay you to hock their shit
If what they describe as the changes were the actual changes, I think what they have is fair. I honestly don't know how people watch streams with all that ad shit on there.

Also, using a VR or AR headset for hours on end will fuck with your brains balance calibration, and you will feel oddly disconnected for days afterwards.
This has not been my experience. But then again, I'm not a child...
It varies a lot by individual. Back when EVE: Valkyrie was being tested I got to try it at EVE Fanfest. I had a great time and had no issues with it (it was only 5 minutes IIRC). While waiting to try it there were people falling out of their chair, unable to walk after, one person puked. It can really do a number on you and I can certianly see myself getting a headache after awhile.

RE: The Cooking Thread
I second and the grilled asparagus, truly delicious. You can do green beans the same way.
Good base:
I usually add at least bell peppers and garlic, but you can add just about anything.
Key thing is that the foil has to be closed tightly so the steam can't escape.
I know you said vegetables but this is also delicious:

Veggies to go with your BBQ or veggies to be BBQ'ed?

For years the passwords that I care about (so don't autogenerate in keepass and never actually know them) have all been perl regexp.
