RE: Disk too full to delete files; Delete files to free up space
Yeah, I do have Win 10 Pro at home and do recall editing the registry, so I guess it was fuckery.

Pretty sure that is what I have at home, but I could be wrong, it has been years since I installed it. I will check when I get home.

Not really, Windows has been able to do run like that since windows 2000. Windows 98 and especially Windows 95 liked to be restarted. Windows 3.1 crashed often enough it didn't matter.
No experience with Windows ME or Vista, so they might have been worse.
Ah so gaming PC isnβt running Windows 10 or 11 because you donβt get 6 months uptime without fuckery or expensive versions.
I have windows 10 pro on my gaming machine, which I suppose is an expensive version, it was only $10 more than home when I bought (OEM) it years ago.

RE: The Official Good Ideas Threadβ’
Still have a working 3.5" floppy drive. I have a 5.25" drive in my closet, that hasn't seen the light of day in 2 decades, should still work but . Not sure that I have any 5.25" floppies left to even test it out, still have a box of 3.5" floppies in the closet though. Some probably still have school projects on them.

Given how often Windows requires rebooted
That really depends on what your definition of requires is. My average time between reboots is ~6months for gaming pc. Sure windows wants to restart for a new update every ten minutes, but they can wait until I am good and ready.

What about Macs without passion?
Never met one.

RE: Disk too full to delete files; Delete files to free up space
Quite Possibly, I avoid macs with a passion.

RE: Disk too full to delete files; Delete files to free up space
Interesting, this isn't a problem for windows, it still lets you delete files even when the disk is completely full.
He could have used a liveUSB with actual linux on it and deleted space that way as well and saved himself all of that work.

How the fuck is that even legal (or maybe it isn't, just no policeman noticed it yet)?
Why would they be illegal?

RE: Driving Anti-Patterns - Necro Edition
The spikey lug nuts? Those are a style of anti-theft lug nuts. You need a specific socket to remove them, which your average tire thief is unlikely to have on them.

Great, now every single thread in the garage is showing as unread, thanks asshole.

@boomzilla This really is a bad pun of the day (if you use the ridiculous m-d date format, that is).
Never understand the objection to the format. The expanded date format: 'March 14th, 2024' is the most common extended format the world over. So why is the shortened version of the same thing odd?
