🔥🔥 MLP Resume Boning :giggity:

I feel like I have to ask. Did he have a MLP resume or interview in a t-shirt and old jeans?
I'd be curious to see any actual correlation value you happen to have between employee value and MLP resumes.
-
That would still make 4.33 thousand, not millions, right? Or am I that clueless about short/long scales?
-
my own piece of mind
How does that work? Were you that self-critical you were giving a piece of your mind to yourself?
-
Yes. It's not unheard of around here for me to be insanely self-judgemental and to freak out about it. Though that was back in 2014, I've done a lot better since.
-
I was subtly implying you probably meant "peace of mind" there.
-
Why not both?

So far, it's perfect. No employed person I have ever met has had a resume in the style of MLP.

I'd read that guy's resume all the way through.
I found it a bit hard to read because I have to process how the analogies work. Also I like dates on a CV.
I imagine it would appeal to a brony more. If it was Star Trek/Star Wars/Starcraft/Star-gazing related I would probably find it more engaging in that respect.
I wouldn't employ anyone who submitted that for a professional résumé.
What's your reason?
It's too soon. The world is not ready for this level of unbridled creativity.
-
-
And of course giving everyone a few million dollars won't have any inflationary consequences.
You nevar know until you try!
-
Those who do not study history are doomed to repeat it?

How about trillions of dollars?

Oh, and I've never worked in any office that allowed shorts or open-toed shoes. I think it's a temperate-climate thing. Shorts is just frowned upon for some reason.
In the summer I wear shorts and Teva's to the office.
Also, all year round when I arrive at the office, I take off my shoes and put on slippers (like these). I'd hate to have to wear closed shoes all day.
-
So what you're saying is that your sample size is zero for people with MLP resumes for whom you know the employee value.
-
So what you're saying is that your sample size is zero for people with MLP resumes for whom you know the employee value.
No, but mainly because you don't seem to understand the term "sample size."
But analysis of my sample of employed people whom I know shows that the best population estimate for people with MLP who are also employed is 0.
-
In the summer, I wear a khaki linen suit or a blazer with an open collar and some loafers sans socks (if I don't think I'll see our director that day, who would hate the sockless look). Some days I even ditch the jacket if it gets too hot, but that's infrequent.
-
No, but mainly because you don't seem to understand the term "sample size."
Your argument is that MLP people are bad employees. Ergo you must have examples of MLP people who are bad employees. If you have none, your sample size is zero. But analysis of my sample of employed people whom I know shows that the best population estimate for people with MLP who are also employed is 0.

Not at all. My observation is that they're unemployable.

Not at all. My observation is that they're unemployable.
Also, you have yet to demonstrate that you have complete knowledge of the personal lives and resumes of every employed person you've ever met.

You say that like it's a bad thing.
Also, you have yet to demonstrate that you have complete knowledge of the personal lives and resumes of every employed person you've ever met.
Of course not, that's out of scope.
-
Of course not, that's out of scope.
No it isn't. That is the scope. You claim that people who like MLP/have MLP resumes are unemployable, and your "evidence" is that no one you know who is employed fits that criteria. You have yet to demonstrate that you know whether or not they actually do fit that criteria, so your argument is invalid.

It's a little early in the day for

@boomzilla is the one moving goalposts to suit his arguments.

No, you're the one doing that.

No it isn't. That is the scope.
Oh, boy...here you go again telling us how we have to do things.
You're, like, one of the few oft-belligerent people on this forum who doesn't demonstrate blatant racism at every opportunity.
Who displays racism?
@boomzilla is the one moving goalposts to suit his arguments.
No, I'm just reeling you back in a bit after you listened a little bit too intently to your shoulder aliens.
-
: MLP people are unemployable.
: Really? How do you know?
: Because no one I know who is employed is an MLP person.
: How do you know they aren't?
: That's out of scope. In what alternate universe am I the one moving goalposts?

Ok, I admit it, I'm racist against Centaurs and Mordrem. And Teemo.
-
You claim that people who like MLP/have MLP resumes are unemployable,
You're conflating two very different things here and I myself would whack my pupils over the head if one of them was so stupid as to use an MLP resumé for a job where something like clearly is not appropriate.
I could see such an resumé used for an application to Nickelodeon, in advertising agencies (and even there only small ones!) or similar. But regular stuff?
Nope.

Some idiot renamed that MLP resume thread and now nobody can find it and they're discussing it here.
Goddamned. This forum is awful today.
-
My brother in law used to work at a piggery and he couldn't wear steel toed boots. Because a sow would crush even that into his foot and cause further issues trying to remove the boot.
Out warehouse primarily handles industrial-manufacturing equipment, so this shit is heavy. Wearing steel toed boots is generally not recommended
Mythbusters tested that and they found that at pretty much any amount of weight you're always going to be better off having steel toes than not. If it's heavy enough to completely crush the steel toe, it's going to destroy your toes either way. You're looking at amputation whether you're wearing them or not.

Wasn't me! I only rename your threads (on occasion)

MythBusters? Really? They are entertainment, not a credible scientific research group.

Seriously, I know you love to bathe in flames, but can you not do it in the status thread?

Seconded.
Also, I found the MLP resumé thread: https://what.thedailywtf.com/t/fire-fire-resume-boning-giggity/53942

Well, feel free to do your own tests. It's not hard, just fill some boots with clay and drop heavy things on them.

-
But this is the MLP résumé thread! Or was this individual post moved from some other thread? Or am I confused? I shouldn't read tdwtf on the train before I've had my coffee.
-
There was A Jeffing.
-
No, you're the one doing that.
I can un-anecdotally say this is true in every case with @fox

Wasn't me. I only rename topics to be the same name when I want to break Discourse.
