Users on the parenting forum are youngish (20-40) and the gardening community are older (60-80), but what they do have in common is a high percentage of users on mobile devices (primarily iphone and ipad). On the parenting forum, just over 80% of traffic is on mobile devices (imagine a mother, small baby in one hand, phone in the other).

Er what? I use the iPhone 7 with Discourse literally daily and I have no such issues.
The OP was talking about new topic creation, which I agree was a blind spot because I just don't tend to create topics on mobile, I read and reply as 99% of my activity time on mobile. I suspect that's true of most people as well.
-
@bb36e I bet the user banning and topic deletion work well on mobile…

This is what happens when the lead developer and people the lead dev ignores are the entirety of your QA team.

: stable [branch] isn't recommended, way too far behind.

@loopback0
Man, you left out a better gem.: The reason was I forgot that discourse-setup uses tests-passed as default
: Hey, guys, it's just way too much work maintaining all these different branches of Chrome. Let's just switch to use Canary as our only version we distribute to users.
: We're about to get market share back!!!

Also there's now an official app (which seems to just be the mobile site in a browser). The iOS version has one review:

I wonder if there's a way to get them blacklisted by reporting them publishing a self-review as a customer review.Eeeeeehhhhh... too much work to do on a holiday weekend.

I thought the iOS store didn't allow that sort of thing? Also, that's really lazy, though I can't judge too harshly, as my company's mobile app will basically be our website in a browser control.

From that same post:
: There is zero value in using Cloudflare with Discourse, actually negative value as it makes setup and troubleshooting more complex. The only value in CF is DDOS protection, if you are sure you will be DDOSed.
Never change, Jeff. If you did, we wouldn't have such an easy punching bag. :P

@loopback0 My favorite part was
Installed Discourse with discourse-setup and tried to restore a backup, which failed.
Backups from older versions work just fine.
Uh... no they don't actually?
-
@Yamikuronue said in How can this be so wrong??? (AKA the Discopocalypse thread):

Discourse can barely restore a backup for the CURRENT version.
Hell, more than once it has actively and permanently destroyed backups.

Point of , though:
Sam killing and skinning Jeff alive

@PJH yup.

The difference is in the apostrophe:
Sep '15 = somewhere in September 2015
Sep 15 = September 15th, this year(I found out by clicking on the date, which gave a popup with the full date.)

@AlexMedia said in How can this be so wrong??? (AKA the Discopocalypse thread):

Ah - you mean
15 Sep
.Which is different from
Sep 15
.Which was one of the points of the original bug report IIRC.
