Well I certainly would not wish a relationship with him upon anyone, gay or straight, so I'm not sure what thinking you're referring to.

In which ISIS invades Prague...
(the WaPo article isn't great, though. The guns weren't firing blanks, they were probably Airsoft guns or replicas and I hear they just played gunfire sounds over speakers. Also, Konvicka isn't really a politician, he never got elected to anything and the shitshow they enthusiastically called a "party" completely imploded a few months ago)

That seems like a dumb idea.

According to an incident report from the Greenville County Sheriff's Office, a resident told officers that her son heard clowns in the woods "whispering and making strange noises." The woman went into the area described by her son and saw several clowns flashing green laser lights before they ran away.
Yikes.

I've seen this article about a dozen times now.
And each time, the newspaper includes a different flavor of "scary clown" image. Ranges from normal, to uncanny-valley face, to outright demon.
It's an amazing look into the pyche of the article's author/editor.

In my beloved country, an email trolling case last week became widely publicized. Rumors emerged that Eszter Iszak, a model and TV presenter, broke up with Ăkos DobrĂĄdy, a singer, and now dating ĂdĂĄm Szalai, a football player. Bors, a tabloid magazine contacted ĂdĂĄm in email and posed the usual questions, attempting to extract as much saucy details as possible.
But the email address belonged to a different ĂdĂĄm Szalai, who dutifully responded to their questions, which the newspaper didn't hesitate to publish, without ever realizing anything:
I can say that I never dated Eszter while she and Ăkos were still together. I am very happy to date her if she's open to it. I cannot say anything about our relationship but I'm looking forward to it. ... We never had conflicts with Ăkos, but I think all of us are adults, and we can talk things over if needed, even personal issues. On the other hand a breakup is only the business of the two people involved and nobody else.

@boomzilla It hurts just thinking about that...

In an unrelated note I'm reading "This book is full of spiders" and he's describing his girlfriend who has a prosthetic hand and steel rods in her spine. I remember thinking she's part robot now. I never knew this was one of my kinks. Four paragraphs later he notes how he finds this more than mildly arousing. MY BOY!
Anyway I'm off to to visit A&E.

Is it any more arousing than imagining the same?

True, but there's a lot of overlap. Most of the items in the Bad Ideas thread have been written because someone tried to do them.

To be more Canadian, they would need to write "sorry for the broken door" on the floor, using either maple syrup or Tim Horton's coffee.

No apologies were involved whatsoever, so there's still potential for even more Canadian crimes.

This was the onion article that fooled me:
I used to live with an Arab that believed the Earth was 6000 years old and at the time, there was intelligent design. My mate sent me this and I thought it was real.
So about 2009, I got some screenshots of a somewhat amusing comment thread (alas, no text copy). Here's a bit of the article, for context:
Here's the very special first comment:
And here's the author's even specialer reply:
And as a bonus, the first commenter replied once more:

Didn't manage to find the original post by that author or the one you've screenshotted, but I did find the PZ Myers response that yours was answering.

American Girl finally released a second black doll:
http://www.essence.com/2016/08/29/black-american-girl-doll-melody-ellison
This is pretty cool; when I was a kid I had Josephina and a custom "design a doll to look like your kid" doll, because those were my options for dolls in similar shades to me; they never really had a mixed-looking doll. Melody would have been a much better fit.
Alas, every time I click through to the article, really disturbing dental implant ads decorate the bottom of the page, creeping me out.

@Dreikin wondering if the first reply is an epic troll or not.
