FWP: I have no more booze (except for spirits I don't want to drink neat) but the shop in the village just closed and I've already had too much to drive.

Order delivery with a mixer then?
As I also fancied something to eat, this is what I did.
-
OK, this probably goes here (as a solution to a FWP) or maybe the bad ideas thread:
-
It's almost like White Castle wanted to become even grosser!

Sometimes a box of grease patties can be a tasty treat, but replicating the amount of grease with a veggie patty seems like it could be difficult.

Just add more palm oil until it starts sliding off the plate.Vegetarian and artery-clogging good!

If it takes nearly three seconds to do a calculation that happens during a single frame in a game that runs at 100 frames per second, it's slightly harder to run the game at an acceptable speed.
-
a calculation that happens during a single frame
Don't you think that little bit of context might have been useful originally?
-
Probably.
-
Probably.
Well, then I don't feel bad about my response.
Note, this isn't a change in status.

I took the contents of that onebox seriously until they mentioned they used a green spatula.
-
I took the contents of that onebox seriously until they mentioned they used a green spatula.
It's not literally green. It's just an expression, like green stamps, or green traffic lights.
-
It's not literally green.
I didn't think it would be. I just can't take seriously the concept of "importance of spatula environment friendliness".Then again, may be they mean it's a spatula used only for handling vegetables. But that was implied when they said it's a separate spatula.
-
No, they've got a color green spatula so they don't confuse it with the one for red meat eating savages. Like coffee pots.
"Excuse me, there's a cow in my veggie burger"
-
-
Especially considering it's quite common in commercial kitchens to colour code knives etc based on purpose to stop them getting mixed up and doing things like using the raw chicken knife to chop lettuce.
Or (as above) the meat spatula to flip a veggie burger.
-

It sort of makes sense--that's an easy way to say "this spatula is only for the vegan burgers." Kind of like how decaf coffee pots by convention are orange instead of brown.
I mean, it might not be true, but it's not unreasonable on the face of it.

You have obviously never had a vegan over for dinner...
Oh, you can't eat red beans and rice because it was cooked with chicken broth?
You can't eat the cake because it has eggs in it?
No croutons for your salad because they were cooked with butter? Here's the newspaper, I am pretty sure they print it with soy ink. Would you like a glass of water?
Also, people who keep strictly kosher will have separate dishes, utensils and cookware for dairy and meat because those two can never mix. Even the possible residue in stoneware would be a violation of dietary law. Separate serving utensils for the two and those who are Super-Mega-Kosher will have 4 sets of dishes and utensils. One pairing will only be used during Passover and they will never serve dairy and meat in the same meal as the mixing of the two during digestion would be in violation of their interpretation of dietary law.
So yeah, I would be willing to wager that the spatula is actually green.
-
FWP: thought the thermometer on my car was broken because it said 42F. Nope, it's actually 42F outside.

Because they don't mix in your stomach. I find that religious dietary restrictions and pseudo-scientific ones like the anti-GMO and pro-organic crowds make vegetarians and vegans look much better.

For lack of desire to create a whole new thread about this...
We're in the process of changing accounting software back ends. The new software has access to a web portal that you can use to pass payroll & vacation data to the employees, yay. Except, they don't really actually test their webpage in the current version of the most popular browser.
SCRIPT5007: Unable to get property 'PageRequestManager' of undefined or null reference
File: Telerik.Web.UI.WebResource.axd, Line: 1389, Column: 1Of course, I think TRWTF is that Chrome and FireFox happily hum along on the null references that are floating along.
Well, that and the clock in the top/right:

You're a dick because a lot of us would be outside in t-shirts right now if it got up to 42F. You and your San Diego weather...
So, do you get a refund on your sunshine tax for the days that it gets this cold?

Hah, I wish. We actually have snow here. I saw it on my drive in, and a bunch of my co-workers that live north of the office are working from home because they got it locally.
-

Better, but only by comparison. They are both batshit crazy. It is only a matter of degree.
Also, I tend to cut Jewish people a lot of slack. As an atheist, they never try to convert me. They never judge me for my lack of religion. They are just accepting of it.
But, give your toddler something with HFCS or red food coloring in front of an anti-GMO person and they will accuse you of child abuse.

And yet they probably don't vaccinate their children. Idiots.
Militant vegas are crazy, but the standard vegetarian, I'm much more understanding of why they do what they do compared to the rest.

Agreed.

My wife became vegetarian while we were dating. It was mostly my fault. We went to the state fair one year and I was calling the pigs "bacon" and the sheep "gyros", etc. That lasted for a couple of years. She still ate fish, so technically a pescetarian? Then when she was pregnant with our son, the doctor told her that she could keep that up but she would have to eat a ton of spinach and legumes in order to get enough iron and protein in her diet. After a couple of days of eating 2 cans of spinach a day, she decided to go back to eating red meat.

The clock should read 31/12/2014?
-
FWP: thought the thermometer on my car was broken because it said 42F. Nope, it's actually 42F outside.
Mine said 45F this morning when it was probably actually 0F. Apparently my block heater is capable of warming the entire garage...
-
-
Well, I was more impressed by the 1990s era clipart involved in creating the clock (it's somewhat more impressive "live" with the clock actually moving). Which may in fact speak to why the site works so poorly in IE 10/11...

Did you not think it was that high or not think it was that low? This week in Dallas it could be either way.

You sound just like my sister on FB: whines because she got a foot of snow, and then bitches because I say "yeah, it's cold here in Dallas, too: I had to actually put on a hoodie this morning."

I have an early finish today and am about to ride home on my bicycle. Taking plenty of water with me.

It's about 34° here, too, so I'm staying indoors.
