When a prosecutor insisted on getting a statement from Officer PC Peach of the West Midlands Police Department (because of a run in with a criminal), they didn’t realise PC Peach was a police dog. Despite being informed of this, they persisted with their demands, so the department sent them the following...

@DoctorJones It gets better: at the top it says "RESTRICTED (When Complete)" so now they're actually trying to find who leaked it onto the Internet.
-
@JBert It's not complete, though. The Crime Ref. No. at the top and the URN just below it are both empty.

Give him a break. With what he's been through, it's understandable he'd have a little trouble pointing in a precise direction.

Who said romance is dead? Seriously though, you could choose a better theme. How about date night at the movies?
...and seriously girl, you can do a lot better than Theresa!

Not known as the Clown Prosecution Service for nothing you know.
And they don't have a sense of humour
The CPS, however, failed to see the funny side and complained to the police that their mistake had been turned into a very public joke.
PC Mark Tissington, of West Midlands Police, who is believed to have shared the original picture of the witness form, has referred himself to the internal discipline unit although sources suggested it was unlikely to be reprimanded.
Anyway, the the reason I was actually going to post:

Well, no wonder they're so sad. That's not a cookie, this is a cookie: http://www.bergercookies.com/media/queldorei/shopper/slideshow/home_pic1_3.jpg

It's in Estonian but the only word said to policelady (not counting passenger banter) is Tere (hello) which coincidentally is the only Estonian word I know.

Easy mistake to make though. Over here "Newton" gets almost exactly the same response.

@obeselymorbid why's it supposed to be funny?
-
@anotherusername It's an alcohol check. They tend to do those with breathalysers. Except this particular car is RHD in a LHD country. Watch what a nice policelady does. The beeping sound is when the man in left seat breathes, apparently passes the test and then cop goes away.

Okayyy...
Except this particular car is RHD in a LHD country.
Uh, what? All the other cars that I can see are driving the same...
Watch what a nice policelady does.
Whatever it is that I'm supposed to see, I'm still apparently missing.
edit: ohhhhhhhh. wait, let me watch it again... I just noticed the steering wheel...
So, she actually made the passenger blow instead of the driver?
-

It's a car with a steering wheel on the right (think e.g. UK). It is being driven in Estonia (country where steering wheel is usually on the left). Policelady checks alcohol of the person sitting in the left seat, but in this car he happens not to be the driver.

Apparently my workplace supports same-sex marriage, but only for women. I just noticed a data structure with fields mrs_idx and mrs_data, but no mr_idx or mr_data.

QfT
We're using an online speech to text API that's apparently real-time (ie the time taken to recognize is the same (or worse!) than the sound file length itself). Guess what happens when someone speaks for more than the timeout allowance? And who gets their speech recognized first when someone says something shorter than the other guy?
And it's not like these are yuuuge files, on average about 15 KB.

There's a guy sitting in a call center in India transcribing the speech in real time, isn't there.
