I logged into my company's sharepoint today for a routine task, and this caught my eye in the "security news" section. I suspect the contents of the yamirant thread are responsible for our security guru's posting this, but also it's funny :D

Someone posted this over on the StarMade forums in response to the suggestion that players should be able to rename star systems:
-
@mott555 I call shenanigans. Surely on a map that comprehensive, there would be a planet called Deez Nuts. And at least a few called Dicky McDickface.
-
@mott555 little do they know, there is no multiplayer in the first place!

Um, StarMade definitely has multiplayer. I run a public dedicated server.
EDIT: Nvm, just now saw the "No Man's Sky" label at the bottom.

No, what clearly needed to happen was packing crushed ice around her head while dipping the whole pumpkin in boiling water and letting thermal expansion and contraction take its course.
Unless she has a rubbery head full of mush
Might take a month or two but should definitely work.

If she didn't to start with, a month in crushed ice should take care of it.

Leno? Dude must have some seriously backed-up DVR queue.
He (firmware engineer) works for Cisco, I bet.
We have Cisco phones where I work.
- Mercedes Gold Edition features: Video-capable, built in access to corporate directory, private directory, all the stuff.
- GMC truck usability: Buttons slow (dial too fast and misses digits); corporate directory slow and last name search only; no touch (buttons you press, most of which seem to do something different from what you want--if they do anything). Very non-intuitive. Lovely echo when talking in a Skype meeting.
- Yugo corporate implementation: Private directory locked out, video disabled, etc.
The Cisco guy would be responsible for 2.

Personal experience with trying to use some of the damned things with a SIP firmware and no CallManager available:
- All of them have an HTTP interface. All it serves is a file showing the current config in near-text form (there's HTML but it's just for purrty colours)
- 7905: can set shit up using phone menu system. Works.
- 7911: requires a TFTP server to serve it an undocumented INI file. Hacked one together using Google and copious amounts of Slivovitz
- 7912: requires a TFTP server to serve it an undocumented XML file. Alcoholic coma achieved.
NB: which model number needed what thing might be wrong due to faulty memory, but I'm 99.9% sure on the model numbers.

I actually went so far as to look for a JS .webp image decoder/renderer. Spent a while decyphering the site's example page (no simple example code was given) and got what ought to be the equivalent code (only simpler, because their code was ), only to get a cryptic error message trying to decode that .webp image. Occurred to me at that point that perhaps I should try running it through the example page they'd given; it gives the same error. Example page for a different version of the library said something about unsupported compression type. Fuck that, I guess.
Picasa photo viewer opens it, but silly me thought it'd be cool to write a greasemonkey fixer for the broken .webp images. But if it's still going to be broken, it's not worth it.
-
package whatever import ( "bytes" "image/jpeg" "io" "golang.org/x/image/webp" ) func WebP2JPEG(r io.Reader) (io.Reader, error) { img, err := webp.Decode(r) if err != nil { return nil, err } var buf bytes.Buffer err = jpeg.Encode(&buf, img, nil) if err != nil { return nil, err } return &buf, nil }
I can compile that to JavaScript if you want.
