Does anyone have any recommendations for Tesla dealers?

I've lived here for years, and I don't think I've ever gone to any. One of us is .
Does anyone have any recommendations for Tesla dealers?
Yes, but it involves flammable liquids, high explosives, and/or biohazards, and might constitute incitement to terrorism, so I'll refrain from offering it.

@bb36e No.

Wait, am I misunderstanding? Isn't IME just the on-screen keyboard?

I'm currently looking into using liquid wallpaper for similar reasons. It's a bit more expensive but you don't have to putz about so much with alignment / cutting / cursing about window sills and the like.
I've never heard of it (I know the kind that you have to spray on with a special machine, but it's apparently a mess to put on and anyway I don't really like what it looks like), but it seems interesting.
We went for a render that we apply with trowels, it's slow work (but we knew it) but we like the final aspect. It's not wall paper, so none of the cutting etc. (I know that I would make a mess of it, even in the simple parts, and I can't imagine how it would look like in the tricky ones such as the thin strip under the angle of the stairs that is a kind of twisted 3D ribbon!), and it's not smooth so it doesn't matter what the wall looks like before. Also, it's dirt cheap, redoing the whole space will cost us less than 50 EUR (heck, I'm spending more than that on the light switches only, these beasts cost a fortune!).

Yes…? Since when did “it ought to be simple” mean that it was not made of fail?
One of the main reasons for that is that the documentation for making an input method is universally dire as it was all originally developed by Japanese hackers — they didn't write much about how to make their stuff work in their native language either, but what little they did write was never well-translated — and was never really fully adopted by the main UI development teams in the US and Europe (for whom an ordinary keyboard typically worked just fine). It's gradually getting better due to the need to support on-screen keyboards particularly for mobile devices, but there's a vast bayou of suck in IME to drain and clear of alligators.

You could probably find some recipes if you googled "long pig". I'll warn you, however, that none of them will be vegan (using vegan Tesla dealers doesn't make the recipe vegan).

If it gets wet/dirty, can you wipe it clean without smearing the wallpaper?

My metric for adding indexes is basically “Does the query planner suggest it?” in any WORM situation.
It seems to no longer do it. I'm not sure what changed in SSMS to make it so.
I definitely need coffee. I first read that as "SSDS".

@anotherusername It's not wallpaper, and we've remove the wallpaper first, so I'm not sure I understand your question...
But yeah, the stuff we're putting on is supposed to be cleanable, although being with a rough finish I can imagine it would be hard to wet-clean without either leaving some residue, or scraping a bit too hard and somewhat marking the surface. You can however just slap some more of it (with or without having scraped it locally first) to hide whatever ugliness appears, and as it dries out it should be undistinguishable from the rest.
At least, that's how I understand it, we haven't finished putting it on, can we wait a bit until it gets dirty/damaged?
-
@Tsaukpaetra IME isn't just on-screen keyboard, it also (classically) has these bonus features:
- Support someone typing a bunch of characters. New characters may combine with old ones. These characters should have a wavy or blue underline, even when not normally possible, and should follow any word-wrapping or scrolling rules of the underlying control, but should not be submitted to the control as input.
- When a conversion key (SPACE on EN-US keyboards) is pressed, break the typed characters up into logical groups, separately underline each group (even when not normally possible), convert each group to ideographs, thickly underline the first group (again, even when not normally possible), and optionally provide a list of possible conversions. Pressing SPACE cycles through the list, pressing a number key directly selects that conversion, and pressing the arrow keys lets you pick which group you're selecting alternate conversions for.
- Pressing ENTER takes the underlined text, whether it's been converted or not, and actually submits it to the underlying control. Usually for custom controls this manifests as someone "typing" a bunch of completely nonexistent keys without any keys actually going down or up (in terms of events). "Common" edit controls get a bulk change similar to someone pasting the text.
Developers can provide IME hooks to try to fit this into their theme or windowing toolkit, but otherwise the IME just does its own thing and hopes you keep up.
-
@remi right, I understand that it's not wallpaper per se. It's just called that. It's more like a thin layer of paper mâche.
-
@anotherusername I... still don't think we're talking about the same thing?
Are you talking about the one that @Rhywden mentioned, this "liquid wallpaper" thing? Or the render that I am using?
-
@remi As far as I know, that's basically what "liquid wallpaper" is.
Depending on the thickness, it can be painted on, or applied with a trowel.
-
@anotherusername Mmm... the stuff we're using is definitely not liquid, and is not described in any way as some kind of wallpaper. I guess there is something lost in translation here, I'm not even sure what the proper name is in French so describing it to you is even harder...
-
@remi Sounds like paint.

You know what paper mâche is, though, right? Basically, bits of paper (size may vary, but in the case of liquid wallpaper they'd be very small, almost pulverized) held together by some type of water-soluble adhesive?
-
@anotherusername said in The Official Status Thread:

Wait, are you saying my beefburgers aren't vegan even though the cows only ate organic grass?
-
@anotherusername Yes, but that's definitely not what I am talking about. If you have questions about this, take them to @Rhywden, he's the one who mentioned that kind of stuff.
The stuff we're using is not bits of paper in any form or shape, it is not liquid, if anything it's closer to plaster or cement than to paper. It's... "render", I don't know any other word for it. Decorative render? Nope, even this turns up mostly water-based, paper-like, sprayable stuff...

I assume it's similar to soda bread.
You use carbonated soda instead of yeast and sugar to leaven the bread.

If you read the fine print, it's not made with real 7-up, it's made with "REAL 7UP FLAVOR." So it's just imitation lemon-lime flavor, not including carbonated water.

I love when things list "natural and artificial flavors" as an ingredient because that means the flavor probably comes from something so gross-sounding they don't want to mention it by name.
