Do most Windows users get 12 hours of sleep per day?

@Lorne-Kates IIRC, you can't
GoTo
a line number anymore. It has to be a label. All this means is that someone, at some point, ported the code up from something that did have line numbers, and instead of using a descriptive label or refactoring it to use another flow control structure to avoid the
GoTo
, they just labeled it the same as the line number it originally referred to.

Status: well, I can't say I've never had my credit card stolen anymore.
No clue how they got it. Must've skimmed it somehow and made a duplicate. Someone used it ~10 miles away from my home. Their first transaction for ~$25 went through, but then they got greedy and tried to charge > $90 at a convenience store, and that got flagged as a fraudulent transaction, declined, and I got an email and text notification asking whether I recognized the transaction.
It was a part of town that I've not frequented or done any shopping in, but still, I'm kind of surprised that the credit card company caught onto it so quickly. They'll issue a chargeback for the one transaction that did go through, of course.

sending to a distribution list is SUPPOSED to be an inconvenience.
Wat?
Distribution list, yes, mailing list, not as much.

@Magus Haven't watched the episode yet, but that seems like ok Python (although immediately overwriting the timeout argument is probably wrong).
Wait ... Python in a show about dragons?

My card does have a chip. The duplicate needn't have one, unless chip transactions are required (which is only at vendors that support chip transactions; most vendors don't).

I'm pretty sure they mean the chips with the embedded crypto procesβ
On 11 February 2010 Murdoch and Drimer's team at Cambridge University announced that they had found "a flaw in chip and PIN so serious they think it shows that the whole system needs a re-write" that was "so simple that it shocked them".[30][31] A stolen card is connected to an electronic circuit and to a fake card that is inserted into the terminal ("man-in-the-middle attack"). Any four digits are typed in and accepted as a valid PIN.
How did they manage to Belgium that up?

I do not approve of updates being downloaded over the VPN at a rate ranging between 0-1kB/s. At this rate all the updates will be downloaded and installed shortly after hell is entirely paved over (to reference the above).

SOMEONE also didn't know how, if that IF block was exited, don't execute the next block.
SOMEONE also doesn't work at the company any more, and I purge their code whenever possible.
FYI, this could have been done with:
If (condition1) Then condition2 = SomeCheck() if condition2 Then // GOTO is here condition2 = SomeAdditionalCheck() end if End If if not condition2 Then PerformSomeLogic() end if // GOTO lands here DoSomethingElse()

@Lorne-Kates I still say it was badly ported from code that had line numbers at some point.
Or... maybe the programmer's brain had been badly ported from a language that used them.
