"I know that <company> is a recruitment agency and we don't do business with you. I take it you aren't looking for <colleague> because you have an in-depth question on <his area of expertise>?"

I don't wear it at all, even when I'm staying in.

Do you have frequently used program that uses Ctrl-W shortcut? (Say, to post messages in BBS) If so you'll hate IE too.

In most places it closes the tab and it really breaks your workflow when it doesn't :( took me about two days for ctrl-f4 in webstorm to become second nature.

Oh. Right.
Yeah I use ctrl-f4 normally for everything (it makes sense to me, since Alt-f4 is close application)

Hate the program that uses Ctrl+W for something other than what it should mean: close tab.
I mean, there's plenty to hate IE for, but that's not part of it.

Ctrl+W is easier to reach than Ctrl+F4.

Hammer uses Ctrl+W for "select brushes inside groups/objects"

@boomzilla This is a common Logitech problem. There's a small tray app to delay it (scroll down to MouseFix).

I have neither a Logitech mouse nor Windows.
-
@boomzilla Sorry, I didn't know you were Amish. ;)
Regardless, it's a known problem with many mice (Logitech just seem to be the biggest offenders) so I'm sure the fix is universal.

I'm sure it isn't.

Wow, airport security is getting intense. Maybe you'll need "noise cancelling headphones" for protection.

I should probably get that looked at...

Status: So, I decided to reset my Surface Book - I found out that, yes, the bleeding edge can indeed cut you.
Even used an USB stick to make damn sure that I'd get to the "slowpokes" build.
Only thing I didn't do: Select the "Tabula Rasa" option, instead giving the "Merely delete everything" option a vote.
This obviously didn't quite do what I thought it did. Because my Office2016 installation (and only that, mind) was still there afterwards. And it had found some new friends, even! Too bad that my installation of Office probably wouldn't understand what the other installations had to say, what with them being Turkish, Arabic, Korean and Taiwanese.
After literally not understanding a single word of what the Arabic uninstaller wanted from me, I gave up.
Scorched Earth it is.

"noise cancelling headphones"
All right, I have some pretty crappy Chinese no-name active noise cancelling headphones that I got in a $5 Meh Fukubukuro (read: equivalent to a Woot bag of crap). I'm really on the fence whether it's worth buying some actually good noise cancelling headphones. The ones I have do a good job of silencing the bass of the engines, leaving a faint mid-high range quiet static. I'd only really use it on airplanes, since I don't really have a noise problem at work that isn't solved by putting on my $40 Sennheiser HD 439s

Real Iron Maiden fans hate the two Dickinsonless albums, but for me, the X Factor will always be the favorite.
Also, I hate Dickinson's voice.
-
@cartman82 do 'real' fans pretend the pre-Dickinson material doesn't exist?
-
@Arantor Paul Di'anno was awesome, so is Bruce Dickinson. I can't remember the third guy's name but I tried listening to one album and quit a couple songs in thinking "This ain't even close to Iron Maiden."
I have a giant The Trooper banner on my bedroom wall, does that make me a "real" Iron Maiden fan?
