I don't work as a programmer, so I can choose whatever technologies and language I want to use, and work whenever I like, as slow as I like.
While I would say my skills are pretty good when writing code, I feel that recently the whole process has become ridiculously complicated. For example, I've been extending Blockly for a while now and wanted to try to do the same with Scratch-blocks. Just reading the quick start page hurts my head
and I still haven't got it working, but I have a Google Closure zip file that can't be deleted. Even when I manage to get it to work I have no confidence I will be able to keep it working after an upgrade.
Maybe I was spoilt by Delphi and Visual Studio, where after a couple of clicks I would be actually creating something.
Microsoft's PowerApps seems to be going in the right direction but I haven't used it yet

After many hours comparing and deleting folders full of source code (even worse than x, x.old, x.really.old) I've set up a Bitbucket account with private repos and am now nearly ready to upload some projects.
However, I've tended to jump around between IDEs and each project folder can contain files from IntelliJ, Eclipse, Netbeans, VS Code, etc. and I have code in multiple languages.
So, what are the best practices for uploading? At the moment it's mainly as a backup solution for myself but if I ever shared any of the projects I would like them not to leak personal (or useless) information.
I've found a website that can generate a .gitignore file containing rules for every IDE/OS/language - should I just make one universal file for all my needs and use it everywhere?

@blakeyrat I still have an electric keyboard and an acoustic guitar that I bought in a moment of musical inspiration. For all the use they've had the courier might as well have forgotten them.
@Steve_The_Cynic I know. I meant that if everyone here can see who the fundamentalists are in a topic about Java or UX, it's going to be hard to keep that out of a real-life conversation.

Baby steps. There's already far too much religion on what is supposed to be a tech forum.

Have to have friends to make friends.
Not true at all. You make friends by talking to the same people repeatedly.
If you need extra help, start a hobby which encourages talking (acting, for example) or find a group which already has the habit of extra-curricular social activities (while I'm not a member, my local dive club goes to the pub after every training session, and has a group trip to the sea or lake district most weekends).
Also, don't inject religion into everything.
Just last night I read the bug posted here from when Chrome removed 'http://' from the URL eight years' ago. Almost the exact same arguments from both sides.

in Eastern Europe they apparently do something absolutely hilarious (paging the Polish guys here). They neither use subtitles, nor they really dub the stuff, but they have like a speaker, always the same speaker (regardless of the gender of the character who is speaking) talking over the original soundtrack. We do this for low, low, low cost American shows (you know, the kind of crap MTV or "Bravo" or all those shitty channels show), but at least we have a few (teeeerrible) voice actors. Imagine it doing it for like an all-time classic.
Indeed. The volume of the lektor is only slightly higher than the original voice because it's the cheapest option. This, coupled with the translations made by 18-year-old interns, means that my job is secure for as long as I want it.
Try and find one with the guy narrating a sex scene - "Yes. That's it. More:" etc., all spoken without any attempt at emotion or intonation.

Time from double clicking the project file to running the app was about 10 seconds and there were no errors. Not too shabby, Delphi!
@pie_flavor That's likely true. This one is doubly so because it contains microtransactions for parents (after presumably already being bought by the school).
There's an infamous app here in Poland for parents and schools to interact. It's well known for being god-awful and greedy software.

Yesterday I decided this makes things more difficult for me so I deleted the team.
Today I noticed I'm still a member, and the test project and repo I added are still on my dashboard.
However, as the only way to manage anything is to first go to the relevant team/project/repo (which all 404) and click the buttons, there seems to be no way to fix this :(
In fairness to Atlassian, the support guy did fix my account pretty quickly after I reported it. Not sure if the original problem is fixed, though.
