And this is different than the other 13k posts I've made here.. how?
-
@Gąska Oh, wait, you're Polandish.
Aloha, I am from the American South (henceforth "Dixie") which is the Poland of America: proud, drunk, defeated by foreign aggressors, humble, plotting revenge against those who have insulted our honor.
I live in the Radom of America. (I actually know people in Radom so this analogy is going to go really well.)
We like beer and blowing things up. I think we might have more guns and more tragically alcoholic world-renowned literary figures than you, but I also know y'all kept a bunch of Kalashnikovs after the Wall fell, so..

Radom is passę. Now we make fun of Sosnowiec.
-
@Gąska I have a dear friend who is part Polish.
She's like "Look, 23 And Me now shows me the area of Poland my ancestors came from!" Which sets me up for the perfect "Oh, I guess they found a few dozen more people in Radom to trade a couple of pints of blood for a couple of pints of plum schnapps!"
Which always earns applause and uproarious laughter (from me.)
She will not be learning about Radom's new-found glamour.

What underlying metric does it represent?
Likes - Dislikes. That's basically it.
But there's also some confounds to note. First, there's the Tsaukpaetra effect. Any posts made before your arrival did not get the bonus "Here's an upvote just for being you!" that all posts got after your arrival, with the exceptions of the posts you made yourself! But more importantly, anyone who has a high Reputation to Posts ratio probably availed themselves of the Likes thread, so it's a thoroughly meaningless metric.
on the Tsaukpaetra effect. But I analyzed it better.
The Tsaukpaetra effect isn't actually that useless. It lowers the reputation ratio of people who frequently post in the garage, for one.

To reduce the appearance of favoritism I suppose. But as I said, I'm not that interested...

@dkf But wasn't there also a church of the CDCK?

@PleegWat That'd be up there with PIN number and ATM machine.

@dkf That doesn't work in .nl because we talk of PIN codes and (literally translated) money machines. Or bill taps.

@jinpa Pathetic!?
I'll have you know each of those hand-crafted 12.6k posts were hand-crafted during a period, of, like, maybe 18 months?
That's 700-ish posts a day! And you have the temerity to call me pathetic!
There were multiple layers of facetious/non-facetious in that one sentence. I've always been somewhat impressed/horrified (there should be a word for that) by the members of the 10,000+ club. So let's assume, that those 700 were distributed over no more than 16 hours a day. So 700/16 ~= 44/hour, or about one every 90 seconds or so, without stopping for coffee breaks.
Yes, that is impressive.
If that impresses you, you would be awed by some of the more prolific Twitter users.

Which is why it hasn't been gameified in NodeBB, I suppose.
I assume that's sarcasm. The Likes thread is the gameification of it. It's meaningless because of that.
The Likes thread (in my opinion) is a mocking response to gameification in CDCK.
I think it actually had more to do with stress testing Discourse. Throwing a monkey wrench in the gamification was just a nice little bonus.

You're talking about unique, human tweets, right? A lot of the tweets I see from prolific "users" seem to be scheduled re-tweets of the same thing, or of posts of others.

Initially, yes. But it continued as a bit of fun long after it had demonstrated that Discurse suffered severe performance problems from a topic that didn't fit Jeff's model of civilized discourse.
