C:\Users\anthony\Music\
is there. You need to go intoC:\Users\anthony\Documents\
and do thedir /a

Regardless of why dbPowerAmp is screwing it up, the answer is the same: don't use the folders in your Windows user folder unless you absolutely have to. Let Windows have its maze of abandoned user-friendliness initiatives and nested junction points and put your files safely somewhere else. Maybe 2 or 3 somewhere elses.

Fun fact: I tried to tell it that I wanted my Rip destination to be on the V: drive. I guess it didn't take, which is how I discovered this in the first place because the only thing that went there was description files of the auto-load results.

Status: an internally-provided advertisement failed to load, and this happened:
Since the App locks the Back button, and the on screen "close me" button does not exist, there's little I can do but watch the ponies wander around waiting for me to touch them. Or kill the App.
Edit: I blame Google for fucking up their spyware:
Normally you don't see this screen.

What I meant is compensating for the read/write offset of the drive itself as well as using the ability to control drive error correction to get as accurate rip as possible. EAC can do that.
This program does it too. . And it offers to verify accurate rip across two discs if you want to be really sure.

This is one of the places where the descriptive passive voice is far more clear than the active imperative, but the devs (or their manager or the client) decided to be a stickler for following prose grammar recommendations.
Super Chat Enabled [X]

or even justSuper Chat [X]

Instead, they opted to tell you what would happen if you were to toggle the control. The potential future state of a feature is usually not very useful. Users generally want to be able to see what the current state is.
Hence your annoyance.

Yeah, like the Play/Pause button?
IIRC in Apple products it's a state icon, and elsewhere it's a future-action icon.

I think those are a holdover from having physical buttons, and then moving them to take the same slot in the interface when the other one has been "pressed" and swap-toggles both. If they had remained separate, you would want to be able to see which one was currently enabled (by being colored, highlighted, etc.).
-
@levicki The first one (with the triangle) is paused, and the second one (with the two lines) is playing, right?
The buttons are indicating what will happen (future-action) when you click the button.
-
@levicki said in UI Bites:
@loopback0 said in UI Bites:

Because it is not?
It even enlarges the image when it's actually playing.
Right. So the icon shows pause when it's playing and play when it's paused. It's the future action.
-
It's easy:
- Buttons text should match the future state (what will happen if you click it).
- Toggle switches text should be invariable and describe the "on" state.
Not rocket science. It's only a problem because designers forgot everything they knew about good UI practices when they got infected by flat-design brainworms.

The on-screen buttons don't overlap content at any time however.
But the content does overlap them occasionally -- for example when you try to press the back button and you get a popup at the bottom of the screen asking if you want to update now and then you hit the update button by accident and can't use the phone for the next 10 minutes because the "enter pin to confirm" screen which shows next doesn't have those buttons and is non-cancellable, not to mention that entering wrong PIN on purpose doesn't abort but just delay each following PIN entry attempt until you either give up and enter the right PIN to confirm the update or power off the phone to abort it. In either case you lose whatever important you were doing on it seconds before.
What the fuck kind of hell are you in where that's even remotely possible? Notifications (or pop-ups, or, what!?) don't appear at the bottom, they're at the top, and it's impossible for anything aside from a full-screen video or something like that to overlap the controls. And even then, the only way they overlap is if you swipe up from the bottom and bring up the buttons.
EDIT: Ah, Huawei. That's a mess. This is why all the manufacturer's UIs need to die in a fire, because every single one is strictly worse than the one that comes for free with AOSP

OnePlus (at least in the far distant historical time of 2015-16) had a pretty good one. It was mostly just regular AOSP, but with some minor features like pure black mode for OLED displays, that genuinely enhanced or got out of the way of stock Android. I don't know if it's changed since then.

Ok that's fair. Slightly modified AOSP is fine. Any time you start making any kind of significant changes though...

So I listed about 50 items in the Steam Community Market yesterday (all those "trading cards" and other junk I had accumulated in various games). At about 0,05β¬ of Steam credit for each, it's not exactly a fortune but it's better than nothing.
If only it didn't take 5 clicks plus having to enter the market price yourself into a text box, for each item! Plus 2 seconds of waiting for the request to complete. There's a "hidden" secondary interface that lets you sell all the cards for one game at once, which is slightly faster. But non-card items don't have anything like that.
But is that it sent me a confirmation email I had to click on. Every. Single. Time.
-
@anonymous234 they just can't stop auto trading.
-
@Tsaukpaetra When they get 15% of every transaction, I don't see why they'd want that.
Without TF2 auto trading bots I'd never have gotten to trade my hundred spare weapons for hats and other weapons I don't have, and I'd probably have quit the game much earlier.
