I'll need to figure out how to hack the launch icon before then.
Or you could learn to cope with small changes in images on your screen.
Is there actually a change? Cause I didn't notice one...
FF22 FF24 Holy crap, a Wild Markdown Table!

Hi there! Welcome to the Internet! To the left you'll find the memes, to the right you'll find wings, and if you keep going you might need this to avoid the trolls!
-
My favourites, not that anyone asked:
Here's a quick draft of how it would look like if we took the fox from F22 and put it over the globe of F24. (could have done a better job if I searched for the source vectors, but meh).
I consider that a big improvement.

@anotherusername Firefox 56 here. Looks like uninstalling and reinstalling Widevine fixed it.

@anotherusername said in WTF Bites:
@zecc if you wanted that icon (FF22), I posted the .ico version:
And here's the one from FF24:
GIMP will open each icon in the group as a layer, and supports exporting to .ico when you're done also.
(moving the discussion back where it belongs)
I'm fine with the icon I have, I really don't care much about it. But if @Lorne-Kates likes the change and asks nicely, I might be persuaded to give it a shot.
Substituting the icon in the executable or wherever it is stored will be left as an exercise, of course.
PS: I tried to find the official "materials", but how can I violate Mozilla's trademark when they don't provide the old incarnation of their logo in vector or highres format?
As for the most recent version, there's a version that can be seen using Leaflet ⇓

Nicebox preview btw.

I might give it a shot using this picture some time later, just for time-wasting purposes:

So we went hunting… and found some devices in an exploitable state… in people.
We had to give this a name. It didn’t take long: hunting for Bluetooth adult toys = screwdriving.Note that there is no PIN or password protection, or the PIN is static and generic (0000 / 1234 etc) on these devices. <snip>
The challenge is the lack of a UI to enter a classic Bluetooth pairing PIN. Where do you put a UI on a butt plug, after all?

@dcoder Pen(etration) Test(ing) Partners are doing penetration testing on devices made for a different kind of penetration? Maybe they could hire @Perverted_Vixen to test the intended kind of penetration for the devices at the same time?

Now if only there was a radio direction finder for BLE instead of having to rely on dBm for hot/cold.

It looks like I can use body blocking based on a little research (good thing I read about tracking down ELTs). It seems to be reasonably good for rudimentary finding.

Yes, the body is pretty good at blocking Bluetooth IME.

Yeah. My computer can't sync with my Fitbit until I take it out of my pocket (that's on the far side from the receiver).

I have to agree with the article here: It's good they are at least trying to make security an integral part, but GLHF trying to have IoT devices actually stay secure even with it.
-
-
@atazhaia Well, if they make correct implementations of a lot of the core security operations with that stuff implemented in the CPU module (i.e., not in the part that integrators modify), that'll go a long way towards encouraging people to do it right, since the integrators will be keen to delegate to that stuff to free up resources for their own system code.
Which will work very well until someone cracks the baked in algorithms. ;)
Still, no fault on ARM for trying to clear up some of the mess. Especially for trying to put as much as possible in the open where people can check for silly flaws; the fact that the threat models are part of the initiative is an extremely hopeful sign.

old, but I just noticed via question on SE:

@boner "Minor bug" as in "small hidden microphone"?

@hungrier I'm disappointed that that's not actually 3D-printing them. It's basically a specialised bread-maker, and bread-makers are nothing new although this has some neat features.

Wow, that's the most expensive toaster I've ever seen. Still less expensive than the iPhone X, I guess
