Neighbors are TR:wtf:

We're getting away from the dickhole neighbours, and not a moment too soon.
A couple of weeks ago came the latest step up from them; after being visited by police and having another official noise complaint, they responded in kind, and also told our landlord a load of shit about us leaving our dogs for 12 hours a day, which resulted in a phone call from him because he'd promised her he would talk to us, but blatantly pissed off because it's not really anything to do with him especially since the accusations are untrue.
This finally pushed my wife into responding. She sent two text messages, one pointing out how pointless it was to get our landlord involved and the second reminding BitchFace that we know very well that she's having an affair and that maybe she should tell her partner about it. This prompted her to report my wife for harassment, and we got a visit from the police.
Two text messages. We've had far more than that from SuperBitch but my wife is the one waiting to see if she gets an official harassment order.
But the references for renting our new house came through today and I'm setting up a moving date, so fuck that bitch.

Document everything. And maybe that order gets turned around to them!
Fingers crossed your new neighbors are better...

Oh shit, I am the bat shit crazy neighbor!?!?!?

If I had to guess, I'd say from a legal perspective you would've probably been safer actually just telling her partner, rather than trying to use the threat of telling as leverage to get her to do (or stop doing) something.
-
@anotherusername yeah, it was a bit of a mistake although it was more frustration and reminding her we had dirt on her than any sort of threat.
We get the keys to the new place tomorrow, not our problem for much longer

Don't you live in NYC? From the TV I've seen, everybody is the batshit crazy neighbour there

Still, I'd be tempted to leave an anonymous note for her partner with just enough information in it to let him catch her. Like a parting gift to her for being such an asshole...

LOLDepends on the neighborhood. I don't live in Greenwich Village** or the East Village in which I would be downright boring.
**I did live there for a few years in the mid-90s. Though my current neighborhood was noted as the murder capital of NYC in mid/late 80s and early 90s. It is now the 4th safest in Manhattan.
-
NYC reminds me of the old Yogi Berra quote about a certain club: "No one wants to go there; it's too crowded!"

That's how I sold my athletic accomplishments to my parents in primary school:
I almost overtook Max!
Then my teacher told them that Max was second to last.

Close, but it's worse than that:
Nobody goes there anymore. It's too crowded.

Actually, that was before I lived there.
So my moving in LOWERED the murder rate.

That only makes sense if the tenants I murder were doing all the murdering.

They thought of that, which is why so many Manhattan landlords are lumbered with murder controls.

That's good science, as it allows us to establish a baseline for number of people murdered for their apartment in an average month in Manhattan.

It's like Batman said. If you kill a killer, the number of the killers in the world remains the same. But if you murder an entire apartment...

Soooooo, the crazy neighbor has outdone herself. 27bslash6 level of outdone herself. A few weeks ago she called my friend who has a remodeling business to ask him for a price on replacing some lights on her house. Presumably she saw his company vehicle parked in my driveway and got his number off the side. He of course turned down the job as soon as he knew who it was.
Which, this reminds me of something. She went through 4 mowing services last summer. That is how difficult she is. Four mowing services decided she was too much of a pain to continue cutting her grass. One of those was a man from the neighborhood who is a cool old retired guy who is a super nice fellow. Not even he could put up with her.
But anyway. If you have read 27bslash6, you probably read his post about his neighbors security lights. I am now dealing with that. Her garage is right across the property line from our bedroom. She had two bright as hell LED motion detecting lights installed. Whomever installed them did not adjust them properly, so now anytime there is strong wind or a cat or anything, those goddamn lights come on. They come on and light up our bedroom. Obnoxiously so. It is basically this:
It will not be any big deal once spring has sprung. We have bushes in front of those windows that block out all light. But right now with no leaves on anything, it is obnoxious.
I told my father about it. His response was: "You have an expensive air rifle with a silencer on it. That should take care of the problem."
My wife gave both of us a look that I will graciously say was "disapproving".
But...I may sneak over there at night and spray paint the PIR sensors with some black paint. ;)

If you want to be even more sneaky: There are transparent plastic foils which shield against IR radiation. If you size those properly it will make the sabotage nearly undetectable.
-
@Rhywden That is a damned good idea. I may have to look in to that. I also believe there are some transparent spray coatings that would perform the same function, now that I think of it.
Hmmmmmm.
-
@Polygeekery Don't get caught.

Smear some kind of grease on them. Depending on how dark the grease is, the sensors might actually kinda-sorta work as intended then...
-
@Polygeekery if you put something that reduce the light instead of disabling it there is a better chance that your neighbor won't fix it.
-
Some of the same people who want to police thought and create safe spaces are advocating @Polygeekery commit a crime.
Interesting.
-
@Karla To be fair, that's motivated by a desire to create a safe space for @Polygeekery.

@boomzilla I think TR is that it took four years for law enforcement to do something about it.

No.

Problem is he wasn't paying them, and the strippers were demanding payment from the wrong people.

The fuck?
County: level of local government below the state level and typically above municipal, though often county territory is not incorporated into a city level entity.

@boomzilla Sure, but... "Spotsylvania"?!?
-
@masonwheeler what about it?

@boomzilla Is that, like, a part of Pennsylvania inhabited exclusively by pet dogs?
