Pi Day: More reasons to hate the English language
-
Today is Pi day because 3/14 and because nerds are insufferable fucktards who can't leave a joke alone and the media are cock-blowing assholes who run "stories" about whatever shit gets shoveled infront of them on their Facebook feed in lieu of journalism and because some punt-stain once made $20 off a t-shirt so now we have to do this every goddamn year.
Unless you live somewhere where the pie/pi pun doesn't make sense, or you use a sensible date format.

See all you humorless fucks on the 4th of May.

Some years ago I happened to watch both M (the thriller with Peter Lorre as a serial killer) and Z (Costa-Gavras's political potboiler) on the same day. I wondered just how many other movies there were with one-letter titles (I vaguely remembered a John Leslie porn fantasy called F, but some sources gave the full title as F...and Lots of It, and if I accepted that as the official title I'd be inclined to disqualify it.)
Could never make up my mind if Aronofsky's surreal film π should be counted.
-
Some sort of Star Trek Appreciation Day or something
Is that the one where Gandalf tells Harry to use the Force?
-
But 1.4032016 is nowhere near pi.
-
I'm holding out for July, 22.
-
Could never make up my mind if Aronofsky's surreal film π should be counted.
Why not? What are you, some kind of latinicist?
Also, I quite enjoyed that one.

Not me, IMDb.
Same site that got all the Icelandic names right in Ben Stiller's "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty", when the movie's own credits butchered them.
-
Unicode is hard, yo.
Well, actually, I'll give them a benefit of the doubt and say that they probably did that for searching purposes. I don't think many people would search for π.

Q: The Winged Serpent.
It has a colon. So. Still, awesome kaiju movie most people don't know about. Has nekked satanists.
EDIT: IMDB says its title is simply "Q". So there you go. Another one on the list.
There's also a movie named ZaAt. It's pretty terrible.

But $3.14 pizzas!
Also you skipped the First of May. I would assume @Lorne_Kates is fond of the First of May Olympics
-
Screw that. I have a better holiday to celebrate on 3/14.
Unfortunately, all I get to celebrate it with is the steak.

Ha. I completely forgot about that, so hereby self-nominate for a

I'll admit, I would like to copulate at least once, and that my idea of humor usually (read: almost always) falls flat.
Also, wasn't it Revenge of the Sith? Oh FFS autocorrect, I wrote "sixth"!
-
@Tsaukpaetra Personally, I'm waiting for Star Wars VIII - Return of the Sithy fit.
Because Kylo? Hissy fits? Sithy fits? See? No?
Humorless fucks.

All those poor innocent computers! This guy was truly evil: most dark lords would dilute it with killing some humans or disgusting aliens.

See all you humorless fucks on the 4th of May.
My daughter's birthday is May 4th.
Let's hope she looks up to the Star Wars princesses rather than the Disney princesses...

@Karla I hope your hairdressing skills are up to snuff:

Um yeah...I think this is an excellent analogy:

@blakeyrat I expect that's still to be preferred over princess Leila in Jabba the Hutt's palace.

I'm a Star Wars!

I'm not sure those cupcakes are worth celebrating.
I was just looking for my own personal "Nailed it" which also happens to be cupcakes. So your timing is funny.
And this one, I got as far as buying the yarn.

Technically the same thing now...

Funnily enough, that's an argument for a good character arc. He isn't fully dark side yet. A full dark side dude would have just calmly murdered an underling without any emotion. Instead he's fully of anger and rage (on the PATH to the dark side, but not there yet), and takes it out on inanimate objects.

I still like Carrie Fisher's response to this the best (paraphrased because I can't find the tweet)... when asked by "think of the children" type "What am I supposed to tell my son about slave leia?"
"Tell him I was forced to wear it by a disgusting gangster slug, and the first chance I got I escaped and killed him for it".

Not sure if you lack sleep and missed my post about this or you are humoring me.
I suspect lack of sleep.

Hard to argue with that.

Disney owns fucking everything.
Oh shit I just realized where Mom Corp. in Futurama came from. The huge corporation that owns and is in control of everything, and is pretty ruthless and evil, but everybody loves it because it has an irrationally good PR image. I just now made that connection.
