@Jaloopa but what would we use to deliver the CDNDN?
You need to download a server image.
-
@Lorne-Kates how would downloading a picture of the server help?! I'm beginning to think you're not taking these performance improvements seriously...

Well, it would be shot in the arm for the wooden table industry,
woodenwouldn't it?

So some poophead over at the church of CDCK thought that it was a good idea to change the alias of an emoji, and didn't even bother to think about the post-breaking consequences of his action?
And nobody caught this before it went to production?
What an incredible bunch of shitlards.

@AlexMedia
And pushed the 1.6 release as an "important security update" without any information anywhere in the 1.6 update notes about possible breaking changes vs 1.5

To be fair, they are only able to generate those after users report them.

I read this as "You, the user, need to download a server image," and thought, "Push not just the front-end processing, but the back-end, too, onto JS in the user's browser; what a wonderful idea!"

How could they? You can't break something that's already broken.
-
@AlexMedia said in How can this be so wrong??? (AKA the Discopocalypse thread):
shitlards.
TIL that TCOTCDCK mix Xenical and Olestra into their fried foods. Eeeew.
-
I don't think that's a fair comparison, Discourse has been pretty clear that they're using the numbering scheme Major.Feature.BugFix, so 1.6 should be expected to have potentially breaking changes versus 1.5.
Of course, expecting to actually
testknow his product well enough to call them out is apparently a bridge too far...
-
@izzion But feature builds shouldn't have breaking changes. Those should be postponed to major builds.

It was committed early March.

There goes Jeff's back door to respond to closed topics if his admin access gets revoked
Also, @cpradio, very nice bug report. Maybe you can give @Lorne-Kates some pointers.

I just went to meta.d to see how long until I stopped being banned.
I AM NO LONGER BANNED!Also, I was immediatly logged in again. So Discourse has not killed my session for a whole year.... Genius!
Filed Under: So, who in here (who was banned on day 1) is still banned?
-
I'm still too much for them. You probably got a pass for being such a noob
-
@Onyx some of us were never banned...
-
@Arantor You probably got a pass for being such a nob.

@tufty sounds like I need more practice :D

@Onyx why would anyone want to go there anyway?
-
@groo I hear they have nice bridges to live under...

If you missed top-quality maybe unfairly treated fellow trolls (@blakeyrat included) have sought refuge under a bridge there gaining internet pointz in silence to get into TL4

@Onyx alliterations are almost always amusing.

EDIT: Wow, I am not banned. Unlike, I think, @abarker?
-
Huh, I'm not banned anymore either. That surprises me given I was banned months after I posted anything, and that I only have a few posts anyway.
-
@mott555 You can probably apply for a re-ban. Just tell them to make the message "Still no longer welcome here even after our initial ban for no reason has passed"
Filed Under: That'll go over well :P
-
@mott555 said in How can this be so wrong??? (AKA the Discopocalypse thread):
Huh, I'm not banned anymore either.
I'm sure they introduce a regression bug that broke bans.
In fact, let me predict a future thread:
We just updated to version XXX and a bunch of users who were banned suddenly aren't anymore.
Impossible you're doing it wrong not a single one of our PAYING customers has EVER encountered this!!!
Look (screenshot) Those users were banned, for sure, and now they're logging in and posting.
NOT A BUG you aren't a PAYING customer to re-engineer this would take $10000 to do what you want you just don't know how to use banning features.
... but it was working. These users have been banned for months. And as soon as I updated to latest (stable) the bans went away.
it's possible changing to the latest version updated the banned table.
"updated"? Do you mean deleted? I really don't want to have to re-ban hundreds of users.
None of our customers use that non-feature anyways it's not a bug your data isn't important stop bugging us!
BANNED
Uh, I'm still here. Like I said, banning doesn't work.
SAM FIX THIS!
PR
BANNED!
I'm also having this issue.
BANNED! Thread !
(new thread)
I'm also having this issue.
ALL THREADS DELETED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
