Cass explained that the tumor is trying to grow by sucking blood flow from the baby, yet the baby is also trying to grow, too "so it becomes a competition."
She was 23 weeks and 5 days pregnant, when Cass performed the emergency fetal surgery. By this time, the tumor was nearly larger than the fetus.
Yuck.
-
@Zecc The tumour went on to have a long and successful career practising tax law in Los Angeles.

@Dragoon it looks like something out of an OSHA inspector's nightmare. How the hell are you supposed not to fall off that and 15 floors down the shaft? Or operate it while coming home drunk?

@Maciejasjmj
Like everything else, feelz

You want yuck? The tumor was a teratoma. GIS that for nightmare fuel.
TRIGGER WARNING: The root word "terato" is Greek for "monster".

Put the appropriate shields and guards and stuff on it, I'm sure it can be made safe. I'm not sure it's ever going to catch on though.

Have you ever heard of a bag? Or a shelf?

TRIGGER WARNING: The root word "terato" is Greek for "monster".I already knew I didn't want to look that one up. Teratomas are cancers of stem cells, and as such tend to spontaneously differentiate into other cell types as the cancer progresses (while still being cancerous). This can produce utter horrors. That trigger warning is valid.

Cancers with teeth, bone, hair, eyeballs, WTF!
They're usually benign but can still be terrifying.

Yeah. How do you carry stuff with you? Oops, I'm up top and someone else just went down (or vice versa).
-
@Dragoon said in In other news today...:
requires just ten percent of the effort needed to climb stairs, but can easily move a person up vast numbers of floors within a building.
Does this remind anyone else of free energy?

Make the seat longer and put it next to you. Or in a basket or bag or box or whatever, attached to the seat. You're not getting a couch up using that but I'm sure a simple solution for smaller, more normal items can be worked out.

A rope to pull on to retrieve it? Combine office and residential space so they mostly have balanced usage patterns? This one is harder.

I'm having difficulty with this sort of thing for small children. Either like an infant who gets carried all the time or a toddler, who doesn't.

Keep it in your lap or on your hip.
@boomzilla said in In other news today...:

I don't know how the thing works but a toddler standing on the foot part would probably upset it. Make a game for the toddler of climbing up and down! :)

I'm pretty sure bags will work for both of those. Stick 'em in the bag (even better if you already have them in one) and attach to the hook .

I suppose they could surround it in a well, add hand rails, and maybe set it on an incline so it isn't as steep. Put a platform every 10' or so to rest.

After a few hops I ended up at this rather fine deviantart page...
-
@flabdablet I'd be creeped out, but that definitely looks like some of the wall textures from the original Doom.
-
@mott555 She has an Etsy shop!
-
@another_sam I was thinking more like having two of them side by side (it'll still have a smaller footprint than stairs, or even an elevator probably), one going up 1 floor and the other going down 1 floor, so if you're going up more than 1 floor you have to get off the one and get on the other for each floor up you go.
The only real question is how you are supposed to "call" it... it doesn't move by itself.
-
@flabdablet Is that a christmas ornament?

How do you carry stuff with you?
Carry? Please. You just use your Apple® iPhone™ on your Verizon™ XtreemSpeed® data plan to access your Amazon™ Prime™ account and order Amazon® DronePrime© delivery service to bring you the box of Soylent™ FoodBars© your body craves!

That's resolved by a complex series of priority and squelches based on who has the most ironic fedora.

's fine. I'll watch the YouTube video just fine.
Actually, my impression of the show is remarkably high, probably due to the lack of perfume smell. I wouldn't mind if it was un-perfumed people washed then slept.
I do like some non-bacterial-based scents after all.

@Zecc "Meet the baby who was born twice" - Am I the only one who wondered what the ethics are of aborting a fetus that has been born and then unborn? Is it a baby when it comes out and then a fetus again when it goes back in? Was it actually born the first time?

@Tsaukpaetra so you admit that you are attracted to little girls?
