When they were kittens we used to lock them into the bathroom when they started making noise at night.
Why would you expect the cat would make LESS noise after you basically imprisoned them in a tiny room? If someone got annoyed at you and locked you in the bathroom, would you be quiet about it?

I've also started eating Quinoa for breakfast
I do believe I would rather be fat. Quinoa is rubbish.

24 m2, heated floor, comfy sofa, windows on three sides. It's their favourite room. They did not vocally object to being locked in there, they just learned how to open the door.

I hate rich dickholes.
I live in the countryside. We paid 50 000 usd for the bathroom, which is about as much as we paid for the rest of the house, 18 000 m2 of land, and three barns. If I was a rich man, I'd pay someone to fix the roof of the barn. Instead I have to do it myself.
-
That's a lot of money to pay for a CAT PRISON.

I'm not sure a price can be put on the value of ridding society of the menace of CATS.

...in a bathroom?
Are you in one of those cultures where bathing and waste elimination happen in separate rooms?
-
I couldn't find a decent picture of the bathroom, so here's a quick schematics instead:
_____________ | bath| | tub| |___ ___| ||sho| |wc || ||wer| | || ||____ ____||
The big area with the bathtub has windows all around, but the booths with shower and toilet have no windows. On the opposite side of the shower is a sink, and on the opposite side of the toilet is a fireplace. Because why not.
Back to topic. FWP: It gets too hot in the bathroom when I light a fire in the fireplace. In fact, it gets too hot on the entire ground floor and I have to open a window in the living room. This is murder on the flowers.

Is this like how caffeine causes spiders to make unusual webs, but with architects instead?
-
So, to take food from the kitchen to the dining room, one must
- Pass through the family room which for some reason contains a fenced-in bedroom
- Pass through some unusual hallways into Bedroom #1
- Navigate around the bed that occupies most of the room
- Crawl through a window into another unusual hallway
- Pass the door and cram oneself into the area west of the door
- Open the door, squeeze out and exit the building
- Enter through the garage door
- Pass through Bathroom # 1
- Finally enter the Dining Room
-
-
>Dining Room
You can see both toilets from there
What even is this? Schematics of the Lubar residence?

Of course not, it's missing the basement entrance.

Even outside Deathstralia, there's things like dogs, raccoons, coyotes, and so on.
We don't have raccoons or coyotes but we do have native birds and marsupials and domestic cats take a massive toll on them. I come from a land Down Under, with no indigenous large carnivorous predators other than humans. The native wildlife is very poorly prepared for introduced predators like cats.

Really? I would've figured the camel spiders and Denebian Slime Devils would take a heavy toll.

Your office isn't in Flint, is it? (Is Michigan still part of the first world?)

I'm not sure it is.
Actually, I think if you stay out of the Democrat areas you're mostly OK if you can handle the cold.
-
What even is this?
According to GIS, someone's school assignment to make "the worst floor plan for a house possible". Though, while the maze is nice, I think they lost an opportunity by having the dryer room next to the washer room. Why not put it to the right of bedroom 3, behind the garage?
-

As long as the dryer room is internal, with nowhere to vent moisture to, it's still quite dumb enough…
-
You don't have dryer vents or exhaust fans?
My laundry room is in the middle of the second floor. The drier has a vent that runs up to the roof, and there is an exhaust fan for the laundry room should the room get too humid.

Our dryer is pretty much in the middle of the basement. It vents just fine. Pipe and flex duct is a thing.

Pipe and flex duct is a thing.
Stop Doing It Right, you two! This is WTDWTF…

Not sure what I'd be hooking the vent to...

I'm not sure if that's the bottom half of a barbecue, a torture device, or a TV antenna. Or maybe all three.

Lake Michigan appears to be mitigating the cold somewhat.

FWP: Getting a critical application Service Login locked out due to "hacking attempts". Well darn tootin they want to hack it! The password is merely Bhemar99**. Yes, asterisks are actual asterisks in the password. Probably to foil someone trying to type it in or speak it out loud or something?

Those are the areas where they'll try and burn you inside a giant effigy of Jimmy Carter, aren't they?

I suppose you could connect the dryer exhaust into the airconditioning ducts. Or just vent the exhaust directly into one of the bedrooms, or some such.
The range hood in our kitchen actually does something similar. We found out that rather than venting to a roof exhaust or something as we had expected, it actually just blows it out of the top front of the range hood into the kitchen and dining area generally. Which does help, since it means that we don't get the steam from boiling water on the stove all going into the cupboards above and condensing all over our glassware, but it isn't very nice in hot weather, or if you're trying to get rid of the cooking smells.

We had a longish run of pipe put in to take the exhaust from our extractor (because our kitchen's pretty constrained as to what is possible). Apparently, the key is to take the pipe up as high as you can and then do a shallow gradient down the rest of the way so that any condensation gradually flows to the exterior port. I'd say that we carefully picked which wall it was in, except that would be a lie: there was only one possibility, but it happened to be right from a prevailing wind perspective too.
We had a very good set of workmen doing our kitchen.

My wife wanted a McDonalds hot chocolate. Specifically a McDonalds one, with extra milk. Since I don't argue with who have inside them, we're stopping at a McDonalds.
I stop at the closest one. There's a line up, because they've gotten rid of 6 of 8 of their cashes (replacing them with a muffin counter, wtf). But they've installed these new fancy ordering touchscreens. So I go to the touch screen-- navigate to Drinks - hot drinks - Hot Chocolate. Tap it-- and nothing happens. Blank screen. I try again, blank screen. Go off to a different Kiosk, same thing-- blank screen. Motherfucker-- now I have to stand in line like a newb.
So I stand in line, wait for minutes-- MINUTES-- finally get to the front of the line. I order a hot chocolate, and they tell me "Sorry, since we aren't a McCafe, we don't have hot chocolate". Oh come on-- this is a renovated McDonalds with a fireplace and shit, and you aren't a McCafe? And why the fuck doesn't the ordering board say "This drink isn't available from this location"?!?
Fine, so we drive 5 minutes down the street to the other McDonalds. I go in and this is 6pm-- and they're closed! They just shut everything down and are closing for the night. Why? To renovate and install those ordering kiosks. Oh come on!
So we have to go across the street to the mall, because they have an Aroma. At least their hot chocolate is actually steamed milk and melted chocolate.
So my hot chocolate took 15 minutes longer than I expected, and I had to buy a higher quality one from a more expensive place. Gah.

Your wife is screwing your company's junior dev?
Why do you think we fired him?
(He wasn't doing a good enough job)

Now I'm really curious what is the average size of a house in the FW.
