I'm sure it's been posted before...

Someone added Spanish subtitles to this video. Then someone put English subtitles over top of the Spanish subtitles. I don't understand why you need English subtitles on a video where a person is speaking English.
(assuming they aren't Australian or Scottish).
Extra added bonus, the English subtitles were written by someone who doesn't speak English very well.

And did it by burning them into the video instead of providing a SRT (or equivalent) for YouTube (or video player of choice) to do it for them, on demand, if requested.
You sure this isn't supposed to be in the WTF Bites thread?

I wasn't sure where to put it. It has WTFs on several different levels, AND, it's a pretty funny story.

Hearing impairment. Noisy listening environment.

Depends on the contents of the video and whether said subtitles are word-for-word accurate (i.e. a transcript). It's also a [good] way to learn pronunciation and use of language. Not many language courses and certainly no text books will be successful in that regard. You learn to swim by being in the water.

Back when Dennis Miller had a show on HBO, I used to watch with the captions on just so I could see the captioners not getting about forty percent of the jokes.

Some people can't / won't hear.

Perhaps the uploader only had access to a video with the subtitles already there.

My knowledge of the existence of a similarly-named item has tainted my perception.

I usually watch TV shows with subtitles on. For both reasons.

Imagine how bored you must be to look up a video from 7 years ago, write down the transcript on paper, each line on separate sheet, arrange them carefully and then record them with your phone in the rhythm of the music.

@Gąska Bored enough to change some of the lyrics!

Iris-sized sphincters would be inefficient. You'd be pooping out mile-long spaghetti noodles.

It doesn't have to extrude poop to count as a sphincter. The human body has many many sphincters, including the ones located in the eyes.
-
@DoctorJones But the one that extrudes poop is the funniest one to talk about...
Filed Under: I just wanted to say "extrudes poop".

True, "JaredFogell" is very similarly-named to "Jared Fogle".
