@HardwareGeek I'm actually about to switch to T-Mobile, as soon as the OnePlus 6T comes out. Do you think this is a regional thing, or is this a T-Mobile problem in general? Because I've never heard my brother say anything, and he's on T-Mobile.
My coworker has it and seems to like it. Except the time they let someone sweet talk them into switching his number to another phone - in FL (we're in Silly valley too). And proceed to (try to) drain his bank accounts (because 2FA and Phones - yea!).
I have AT&T and coverage at home sucks. My phone only works here because of wifi calling.

I'm on mobile, and since mobile is different it apparently refuses to give me a version of that image that's actually readable when zoomed in...

@pie_flavor I know T-mobile is shit inside the city, but it seems ok in south bay. ATT (with a prepaid plan) has been great for me, though

@Polygeekery So he gets the money and doesn't have to do the show?

Yeah, I gave up on even trying to read it. Pretty much nothing is funny enough to be worth that much effort.

@HardwareGeek I went so far as to view image and take all the URL parameters out in the hopes that it'd give me the full sized version.
It gave me a thumbnail.
Then I tried removing the
_d
or something like that in the image filename. It redirected to the original page.
And then
the murders beganI gave up.edit: in hindsight, I should've tried checking the "desktop site" box in the Chrome menu before giving up.

Better question: Where did 50 Cent get the money from? Last time I looked his name was to be taken literally.

@anotherusername Browsers should change whatever it takes to make it so websites can't redirect from files to the main page. It's a terrible user experience.
-
@anonymous234 the server doesn't have to issue a redirect... it could just serve up whatever it wanted regardless. And it could do something like only serve the image if the referrer matches itself, and then since accessing the image directly will have a blank referrer it could give the page instead.

Yeah, that worked.
-
@anotherusername The point is the browser shouldn't allow servers to do it.

How are they going to prevent it? If the server is ignored what do you expect to happen?

Ok, so what should a browser do instead? Show you "this page has moved to /"?

The Off-by-one browser does!

@Tsaukpaetra does your ISP block lubar.me but not knzk.me?
-
@Tsaukpaetra It’s actually more comprehensible that way.
-
@Tsaukpaetra I guess abolishing the referer header is the only way.

The point is that short of just telling the user "welp, this site is borkened, try a different one?", there is nothing that the browser could do.
(And it shouldn't do that... it'd break too much functionality.)

I'm willing to agree with a caveat that some people prefer to see the fucking skeletons still covered with skin. Otherwise some solid points raised there.

Some choice quotes:
“Do not, under any circumstances, let your Roomba run over dog poop,” he warned.
“Because if that happens, it will spread the dog poop over every conceivable surface within its reach, resulting in a home that closely resembles a Jackson Pollock poop painting.
...
Then Newton found the mess. He stayed up all night, disassembling and cleaning the Roomba, cleaning up the poop with the carpet shampooer, steam mop, paper towels ... bleach.
“Oh, and you’re not just using profanity — you’re inventing new types of profanity. You’re saying things that would make Satan shudder in revulsion,” he wrote.

Is this not just an updating of the scene in "The Wizard of Oz" where the Tin Man finds the Scarecrow after he's been dismembered by the flying monkeys?

Yes, it is not.
