@weng experienced something similar. Hmmm....

So you're saying the server's so @weng'd up that not even @PJH's balls can fix it?

Including "open face sandwiches" in the definition opens up the (IMO) insane possibility that a pizza could be considered a sandwich (bottom bread, primarily savoury toppings) while a shawarma (structurally a wrap) would not.
Pizza is baked along with the toppings, not separately.

According to our lunch calendar, Friday is Hawaiian day. (And today is German)

FTFY, as it's mainly americans who have leavened pancakes. In the rest of the world, pancakes of most varieties are unleavened.
-
@atazhaia fair enough, but unleavened pancakes would already be covered under the rule that sandwich bread has to be leavened.
-
@anotherusername Yeah, I don't call a pancake a sandwich. I'm just being about the definition of pancake.
On the topic of sandwiches however, here's the ultimate in sandwiches:

-
@atazhaia that has simultaneously reminded me that the definition neglected to mention that extra slices of bread might be included to separate layers of filling and/or just for no good reason, and made me wonder if some reasonable limit ought to be added to how many such layers can be thusly created and still have the result be called a "sandwich".
It also raises the question of how that particular concoction would be eaten. Sandwiches are eaten with hands, not fork and knife. The one in the onebox looks like it could be eaten as an open-faced sandwich perhaps. Otherwise it might be possible to take layers off to be eaten as individual open-faced sandwiches in the event that the whole thing is too thick to be eaten as a single sandwich (this would also apply to the so-called "Dagwood sandwich"), but I doubt that would be possible on the one that's entirely covered with cream cheese "frosting". In any case, eating it with a fork and knife nullifies any "sandwich-ness" of the item.

@pie_flavor The recommended dosing on melatonin is bunk. I don't feel any effect until about 25 mg.
-
@mott555 Oh, it worked like a charm. 20 minutes after taking it, despite not being tired at all, I was out cold. The problem arose when it wore off.
-
@anotherusername It's typically eaten with a fork and knife. Although it's also not too uncommon to eat normal sandwiches with fork and knife here, depending on the size and toppings/fillings-to-bread ratio.
-
@pie_flavor Yeah, it puts you to sleep but doesn't always keep you asleep. Mixing it with Benadryl can help there.

And so did you?

@anotherusername Not for four hours, no. First I tried two hours of just lying there, then I tried a one-hour sleep hypnosis thing on YouTube, then I tried an hour of white noise. At that point I said fuck it and got up and had breakfast.

@adynathos But now it's daytime, and I'll only fuck myself up worse if I go to sleep now.

While fascinating, none of that explains why the $0.26 had to be charged as a separate credit card transaction.
In my experience with payment processing, you can only perform one capture per authorization, and for "not having customers shriek at you on the phone"'s sake, that authorization should be equal to the originally quoted total.

Here's something weird:
I have a Surface Pro 3. When it wakes up from a deep sleep, Chrome won't connect to any websites for quite a while (minutes). It says "waiting for cache" and "resolving host". Edge will connect immediately, and opening Edge, then quitting it, is enough to make Chrome behave normally.

I would never had considered peanut butter as savoury... Is it like butter, you can get salted/unsalted ones? (if so, I've only ever seen unsalted ones)
-
I wouldn't call peanut butter sweet, although I think there is some sugar in it.
I would argue with the idea that a sandwich needs something savoury though. I don't like sweet fillings myself, but honey, chocolate spread and jam are all perfectly cromulent fillings.
Unless butter counts as a filling?
