Why is the second one so more computationally expensive?
Getting all rows rather than top 1? How many is it?
Between 1 and maybe 10?
Edit: Or... WTF? Why aren't sessions getting deleted?!?!

@tsaukpaetra
What are the indexes on the AspNetSessions table? Can you pull the actual query plans for these and post to https://www.brentozar.com/pastetheplan/ and provide links (via DM if you prefer)? My guess is that there's a NONCLUSTERED index on token that is selective enough it's being used, and there's either no index on AspNetUser, or the index isn't selective enough for the optimizer to pick it and the plan is doing a full scan of the table in door #blue

One of my Indian coworkers, who's only been in the UK a few months, asked me today if this was the rainy season.
We've had pretty near a solid week of rain.
-
@carrievs It's the north of England: the rainy season lasts from Jan 1st to Dec 31st
-
@carrievs in Kent on Friday night we had 43mm of rain. The average for the whole of June is 50mm

50mm of rain sounds about the same as a good summer storm here in Florida. Ok, slight exaggeration there, but not much.
-
Where I am we've had an unusually rainy spring
with still more to come

It's the North East of England. We're in the rain-shadow of the Pennines.

Kent is a very dry part of the UK.

I had a fly in my truck I could not get rid of on a recent highway trip. I opened all four windows completely, expecting it to get sucked out, but the moment I shut the windows it re-appeared. This continued for an hour or so. Other drivers probably thought I was nuts.
And of course it wasn't one of those boring lame flies that just sits on the door or something. This was one of the aggressive types that had the insatiable desire to fly directly into my forehead over and over again.

I think he migrated. That is exactly what this fly was doing. In the middle of trying to swat him, and shoo him out the window, and rolling windows down and up and cursing, I thought to myself, "it would be safer to be texting right now".
-
@dkf Ah. That I missed.
Related, last year(? maybe the year before? I'm horrible with time) we had 3 weeks straight of 6-8 hour torrential rains. It was...fun. And that wasn't even a true tropical storm or hurricane.

Status: I hate websites. I found an auction site specifically for salvage vehicles, but before I can bid on anything they need to process a scan of my ID which they have had for several days now. I am running out of time on an auction for a wrecked semi-local CBR300R which I was really hoping to acquire for cheap so I could swap the engine into my CRF250L which likely has a bad main bearing and would benefit from the extra 10 horsepower anyway.

I've bought a few things there before. Good people.
If you used the online uploader, mine didn't take more than a couple minutes. Check the licenses screen.
Apparently they no longer list the licensing phone number, but they're always super responsive on email anyway - member.license@copart.com
-
@weng Thanks I'll try emailing them. It shows up as "pending" under the licenses screen, and has been that way all week.
-
@weng Since you've used them before, can I ask what happens if you win an auction? This bike is for auction on the 5th which is a Wednesday, but it's in a city a four-hour drive away. I wouldn't be able to retrieve it until the weekend. Are there storage fees if I'm not physically present to pick it up immediately?
-
@mott555 You have 5 business days to collect it before the storage fees start.
I see you're looking to pick up on a weekend. I'm not aware of any yards that operate outside M-F 8-5.

Ugh. Guess I'll have to take a day off work then.
-
@mott555 I generally do. You can also have it shipped. Most consumers do.
Their business is really heavily B2B oriented because most states prohibit consumer auto auctions.

-
@weng said in The Official Status Thread:

Yeah, but at that point I'm probably better off paying the mechanic to rebuild my current engine. I'm basically trying to avoid a $1k - 1.5k repair bill by getting a <$500 wrecked bike with a compatible engine I can swap myself some evening.

Don't ship a laptop with a 128 GB SATA drive in an M.2 slot. It'll bottleneck on the interface, it's so small it's useless, it's dumb and literally nobody in the world wants one.
While I agree it is uselessly small and a waste of a perfectly good M.2 port, it wont bottleneck on the interface as it's using a different interface. Allow me to : If you connect an M.2 SATA SSD to the M.2 port what happens is that one of the regular SATA ports provided by the southbridge will be redirected to the M.2 port, making the M.2 SATA SSD work like if you had connected a regular SATA SSD to the SATA port. Connecting an M.2 PCIe SSD to the M.2 port will instead connect it directly to a PCIe root and the drive will communicate using NVMe.

The dumb thing is, thanks to Roslyn, it's the same freakin' compiler used for both compiling and IntelliSense

@tsaukpaetra Well, Roslyn's for VB too, but anyway, no worries ;)
