1.4 Alcohol and drugs in any form do not belong and are not allowed to be taken onto DreamHack premises. People intoxicated and/or under the influence of drugs/other non-allowed substances will not be allowed on the premises, at any time. People found intoxicated and/or on drugs will be shown off the premises.
Although maybe you were there before they got more strict about enforcing their policies?

I hate when a lib calls itself portable then requires you to run autoconf, make or some python script to prepare the build process.
All I have in my embedded device with no file system is a snowflake build system and anything other than 'compile this bunch of standard .c" files is a pain.

How can that be? As a male CIS Murican you don't have a culture.

Finally time for the big team switcharoo today: almost everyone in our team was moving desks. I previously had the second best desk in our area (at least, by my personal standards).
Now, I've got the only one that's better: it still has the lockers on one side like my old desk, so I'm not overlooked that way and have my magnetic display board, but it has a whiteboard behind it instead of the space between our two banks of desks, so I'm not overlooked that way and I won't get people standing behind me talking so much, unless they're talking to me.

Uh ... ok thanks MS for letting me know ...

Status: Just reported some moron for parking his car on the bike lane and engaging the warning lights. The idiot probably wanted to buy something in the small store right next to where he/she parked.
And before someone gets indignant: He drove by a parking lot where you don't have to pay anything for the first hour of parking. And if you look closely, you can see a left-turn lane coming up. This leads to another parking lot where the first hour of parking is also free. It's literally right (erm. left. But you know what I mean) around the corner.
The fine will probably be 20 €: that's 15 € for parking in an impedimentary way and another 5 € for engaging the warning lights without proper cause.
I can see myself doing this a lot more in the future - our agency responsible for this has announced that you can email them as long as you include the proper details and photos (and are also willing to acknowledge that you didn't make a false statement).

@coldandtired
But I read somewhere that after performing strenuous exercise (like judo chops), one should eat a high protein meal!

Neighbor (we share a garden) got a new dog. I was afraid it'd be aggressive like their previous one.
...well, turns out she's literally the friendliest, least aggressive animal I've ever met! And seems to love belly rubs more than anything in the world.

@anonymous234 Friendly dogs are basically cats without the 'holier than thou' attitude

That is the plan yes. I've reserved us a lovely room with a balcony and a view of a nude beach.
@accalia says she won't come, but i'm sure i can manage it if i try hard enough.

TYL: in Dutch/Flemish the term 'balkon' mostly refers to the protruding embellishments found on females.
So I wish you the involvement of a nice balkon.

Status: Finished installing my new countertop dishwasher. Since I don't have free connectors of the proper kind for fresh water and waste water, I had to McGuyver a bit and modify the countertop waterspout. Opening the valve didn't lead to any immediate leaks so I'm cautiously optimistic.
I have duck tape standing by nonetheless. May post a photo of my kludge later on if it works.

Can be used in a pinch, but not really suited to long-term leak prevention (the glue doesn't particularly like water)
-
@RaceProUK Yes, it's only intended to prevent a major, immediate spillage.

Kodak is making smartphones?
Maybe it's a bit like the new Nokia 3310*: a Kodak in name only.
It's made by Foxconn, and was designed by HMD Global
-
@RaceProUK so someone bought up the Kodak name?
I know they went bankrupt. There was a big controversy when they had to decommission their undocumented nuclear reactor because of it.

uhh...... before i go do that...... who exactly should i do it with? because that particular maneuver requires a very high degree of balance and coordination from both partners, otherwise it's super dangerous and falling off halfway through is a great way to splatter your brains on the pavement.
still, reaching heaven on a tightrope between two skyscrapers without a safety net is worth the risk if you pull it off.

Status: So I have one project to finish up before leaving for vacation in the morning. I go to the client location and park in back where the owners normally do and use my key to come in the back way to their offices. I am sitting there doing my thing in peace, because no one even knows I am there.
A ticket comes in from said client. I head up front where the girl who submitted the ticket is at.
-very sarcastically and humorously- "Do you think that we can just magically appear anytime you guys have some problem??"
-triple take- "Wait, what, where did you come from? I just sent the ticket?? You're like magic, I never even saw you come in."

Status: Trying to set up Selenium tests for our project.
Overall, the basic stuff works great, but all the guides are stupid.
No, I'm not going to use NUnit, don't just suggest that without mentioning why you're using that over what's built in.
I use MSTest2, and it's actually better for this situation.
Seriously,
[DataTestMethod] [DataRow("ie")] [DataRow("chrome")] [DataRow("firefox")] public void SomeKindOfTest(string driverName) { RunTestFor(driverName, driver => { // Woo, tests! } } public static string RunTestFor(string driverName, Action<IWebDriver> test) { IWebDriver driver; switch(driverName) { default: driver = new InternetExplorerWebDriver(); break; } try { test(driver); } finally { driver.Close(); } }
Why would I not want to have this available!?

I mean, it's a valuable asset. It would be a failure of capitalism if someone didn't buy it and exploit it.
