so returning a non-nullable as a nullable ought to have a call to Convert to make sure everything is working correctly. However, this means that this expression is no longer castable to MemberExpression.
Yes, you always have to look if you have a
UnaryExpression
when using property selectors, especially if the target type isobject

I need a musical instrument that rhymes with a fish. An example would be harp and carp, but I can't use those two. It's for a book.
A good starting point:
no really good rhymes, but here goes:
- mandolin - marlin
- banjo - banjo
- pipes - pikes
- fender - flounder
- violin - spinyfin
I tried to find something on "stratocaster" but drew a blank :-(
-
@Mikael_Svahnberg Pipes and Pike might be just about perfect. Thank you!

Can I place an order for a brick wall, against which to bang my head, as a refreshing change from what I'm trying to get done?

Status: Wasted all day trying to get my IDE to build the C portions of my project. The combination of wanting to check an existing project out from git, do cross compilation, and use stuff included from another project (which in turn is a mixture of C, Perl and Python) has just made me incredibly frustrated as silly configuration problems have got in the way at every stage. At least I already have the toolchain installed, so I can just drop into the command line to build, but it is irritating as hell to have the IDE think that
int32_t
is not a defined type…And yes, these are complex multi-language projects.

I'd normally be on my way home by now on a Friday, but this week it's my turn to stay until 6 so our team complies with a rule that's only meant to apply to operational teams but applies to us anyway because of a technicality.

Yeah, but there's nothing stopping companies putting anything they like in those

@izzion Thanks but I brought in two packets of chocolate digestives for the team today, so I've got all the biscuits I need.

@ben_lubar are you counting all those attributes? Are they required for something?
I bet you're doing something weird

Problem: Network connection will be down for several hours, which will severely interfere with my WTDWTF reading.
Solution: The guest wi-fi will still be up. Just use that.Problem: My desktop computer doesn't have a wi-fi adapter.
Solution: That's ok... my laptop does.Problem: I don't want to use the laptop. I want to use the desktop.
Solution: Well, duh... not a problem. I'll just statically assign the laptop's Ethernet port the IP address that the desktop has defined as its default gateway; the laptop's not plugged into that network, so it won't conflict. Next, enable Internet Connection Sharing for its wireless interface. Add 8.8.8.8 as an alternate DNS server in desktop's IP configuration. Finally, plug desktop's Ethernet cord into laptop's Ethernet port. Desktop is now using laptop's wi-fi connection. Problem solved. It's so simple, any idiot could do it!
-
@anotherusername You could also have shared the connection from an Android phone, if you have one. Before I rearranged my furniture in my apartment a couple years ago I had my desktop connecting to wifi using an old phone, because the alternative would have been to run 37498273948279456 m of network cable all around my apartment.

Added Side Bonus: You now can no longer install Cisco AnyConnect on your laptop. (AnyConnect fails to install on any device that has ICS enabled on any interface, with an actually fairly useful error message but not one a standard user can figure out what they need to do to fix)
-
@izzion added side not-so-bonus, Outlook still figured out how to connect to its Exchange server.

It's 800GB uncompressed.. Which should fit the desired folders, no matter how shitty your compression is.

On Linux, you'd want to use Openconnect anyway. Does anybody use the official client?

I have no words.
Turning off compression on the drive actually worked!
How can you screw up something so badly?!?!
My only assumption is that apparently Windows can't handle files that are > 222 Gb when compression is enabled? The file itself is 629 GB, so 629 - 407 = 222 Gb? I'm assuming 200 Gb, since the VHD file isn't really that compressible anyways...

Just went on a 2 hour expedition to pick Leila up from the bar and take her home.
Because Uber wanted $138 for the 5 miles, and I'd drive 30 to get there and 30 to get back for a six pack of (good) beer.
Surge pricing is... Kinda stupid.
