@Tsaukpaetra If you wire the lights such that any single light burning out causes the whole strand to stop working, the chances go up dramatically.
Also, it can be due to local conditions i.e. electric surges, humidity, cascading failure etc. For some reason the 3 light bulbs in my bathroom seem to burn out together every six months (should just buy LED lights, but since I don't pay for them, I guess I don't care).

Spent all of yesterday evening laying out a circuit board. It's a custom form factor USB charger for my project car. It has very few components: a filter cap, three voltage regulators, three USB charge controllers, a power connector and three double-gang USB ports.
The USB ports are oriented 90 degrees to the board and therefore the board has a "panel side" with rather little clearance and a "back side"
My dumb ass laid the board out with the giant heatsinked voltage regulators, filter cap and power connector on the panel side. What did I put on the back? The tiny little SMT charge controllers that require zero clearance.

I just received another email that the same RMA had been processed again and will be delivered tomorrow and that they no longer had that model in stock so they upgraded to a newer model.
I just got the exact same email again. Same RMA#, etc.
Let's see if this one is an error in their mailer, or if I need to start an eBay store.

LED light "bulbs" are like $1 a "bulb" here, limit 20 per household, since my power company is paying for most of it.

Windows? what the actual fuck?
how did you create a file that you cannot open, nor rename, nor delete?
but you totally were able to be created?!
I know this is a NFS mount to a linux machine, so there's that but YOU LITERALLY CREATED THE FILE NOT THREE MINUTES AGO!

@accalia The low level APIs are more lenient in file naming them the higher level ones that, for example, Explorer uses. You can probably kill it from a CMD prompt.

Status: Ever since we almost beat Factorio and are in no threat, I haven't really wanted to play until there's a bunch of new content...
So I've been playing Paragon and Pokémon. I'm fairly sure that in Paragon, the people who always pick Khaimera are making a big mistake: because of how items work in that game, a typical 'carry' just means you win 1v1 if the opponent doesn't have mana or is a really low-life build. But the only time kills matter is in teamfights, or during early farming, so they become steadily less useful at endgame...

@accalia FWIW, a chkdsk sometimes gets rid of those files.
But if we're talking about
a NFS mount to a linux machine
then this probably won't work.
-
@sloosecannon I mean, it's Javascript, so it probably won't care about syntax problems.
Actually, PHP might be easier, with the whole "fail never" attitude

@RaceProUK PHP 7 lets you opt into actual type safety guarantees on things going into functions and things coming out of functions. Which implies you'll have to make sure about what's in the middle.
Give it a couple of major versions and maybe this will be opt out or even mandatory!

Yeah, this is wired (supposedly) so a single bulb burning out shorts that bulb in the strand, which raises the current going through the strand as a whole but isn't too important for this problem, and also the unit is wired to keep power through the end even in the event of a bulb removal (i.e. the plug at the end still has power coming out, despite the lights not being lit).
It's annoying, I gave up after an hour of individually testing the bulbs.
