And that's it. No more deliveries scheduled. There are things I need/want to buy, but I haven't bought them yet. Nothing en route. Nothing "potentially" delayed. Nothing lost by USPS for a week and a half or sent on a 1000 mile detour for no reason.
Nah, the Delivery Distortion Field story arc can't end on such an anti-climax. I bet you're gonna start receiving stuff you haven't ordered. Then asked to ship it back. Of course, it will go comically wrong.
You should go into the fortune-telling business. Or become a pollster; your predictions are far more accurate than theirs.
The Delivery Distortion Field has now expanded to include grocery deliveries. This morning's delivery was somebody else's groceries. I caught the driver before he left, so hopefully it should be corrected with no further effort on my part.
I mean, it was the only direction possible to extrapolate when you didn't order more stuff.

Oh, but I did order more stuff yesterday. I ordered some hobby items that are/were to be shipped. Most are due to arrive Wednesday. One was due to arrive tomorrow, but it was in stock at the local store, so it was delivered last evening. (Even that wasn't without incident. Although days ahead of schedule, the delivery was later in the evening than expected, because the store was busy and hadn't actually filled the order when the driver showed up. Also, the driver had to return and ring my doorbell after I brought the item inside, because she had forgotten to scan the bar code on the delivery label.)

-
@error Because of how insecure the telco federation infrastructure is, spammers can claim to be from any number they want and AT&T happily passes that along. If a spammer used your doctor's office number for one of their campaigns and AT&T subscribers reported it as spam, it only makes sense that AT&T thinks it's a spam number.

In fairness to AT&T, they don’t have much choice but to treat the data provided by the originating carrier as trustworthy. And most of the times, spammers aren’t using mainline carriers because the mainline carriers generally do enforce that the CID you set on outbound calls must be a number associated with your billing account.

Except without the

There's no sanity in a shared PO role. Also, the designer being PO is an extreme anti-pattern. Also, can't developers code?

Got home last night from a dog show. Opened the refrigerator. Um, it's warm. Fuck. Saved what was sealed and moved it to my trailer. Moved the mostly still frozen solid stuff into a Coleman cooler (one of those heater/cooler powered ones).
Today, went refrigerator shopping. In/out in 20 minutes. Should be delivered tomorrow. (The old one is 25y old - not going to bother getting it fixed - probably just the compressor) Just a basic top-freezer model. Nothing else will fit the existing hole. Would have preferred bottom-freezer - but those were just a smidge too tall. (Existing hole is 68.75 inches tall - those started around 69+in) The plus side to getting just the basic top-freezer model is I didn't pay $2000! (Only $1200 including delivery - which will involve taking the doors off, and removal of the old one)

Not so much when it goes to sleep to save the battery every 5 minutes. In the case of my mouse, even when I'm actively using it.

Compression artifacts as a stylistic choice? That's a new one.
-
Not really:
Compression artifacts is a noticeable distortion of media (including images, audio, and video) caused by the application of lossy compression. They can be intentionally used as a visual style in glitch art. Rosa Menkman's work makes use of compression artifacts, particularly the discrete cosine transform blocks (DCT blocks) found in most digital media data compression formats such as JPEG digital images and MP3 digital audio. Another example is Jpegs by German photographer Thomas Ruff, which uses intentional JPEG artifacts as the basis of the picture's style.

Basically lol. For realism.
Although the vocoder is pretty great at volume normalization and stuff too.
-
@Zerosquare said in The Official Status Thread:
Not really
Super exaggerated artifacts achieved through manual post-processing? Yes, that's old. Subtle artifacts from using production-grade tools on default settings? Never heard of it until now.
Also, animated oneboxes are even more annoying than lack of oneboxes.

Um, no. It's now 22:15, and I still don't have groceries. I got no less than 4 emails telling me my order was delayed (two of them simultaneous), and then silence. No groceries, and no further updates.

I called them this morning. Order cancelled and refunded. I reordered the groceries (one click to reorder everything on the list), along with a few additional items. They should, DDF willing, be here this afternoon, only 31 hours late.

I really need to order another. I moved my other one so my work laptop had a dedicated external monitor/keyboard/mouse, but now my desktop only has one. And it's painful.
-
@Benjamin-Hall I only have one monitor. Worse! I have one extra monitor that is sitting unplugged. I also occasionally work using only a laptop's own screen. Works
on my machinefor me.I am very glad Windows finally introduced virtual desktops though. That's the one thing I couldn't live without. It's like multiple monitors in one; though the thing I really care about the most is having multiple taskbars.
Also, "Task View" mapped to a mouse side-button for the win.

@Zecc How am I supposed to get neck strain to complain about if not due to working on something "this will just take a minute" on the other monitor for hours on end?
