Considering that their text chat support had a 105 minutes waiting time, maybe that was actually a smart response.
Still not very customer friendly, though. The best such systems I've ever run into, when they work, are the ones in which you enter a phone number and they call you back at that number when an agent is actually available. Not so friendly, though, when they just pretend they are going to call you back but don't ever follow through.

Yes, that system is nice but only if you also provide a normal number to call. Because those callback-systems usually reserve callbacks for numbers inside the country only, which is a bit of a problem when you're a foreign customer.

Only problem: No one actually thought of testing said main gas valve. Which is why someone will show up tomorrow to fix the damn thing.

If you need phone support on Google Fi, like I did last week when I got sent an email saying they were cancelling my account for the (null) phone i got for not signing up with service, which I actually did, you just go into the app and click a link saying you'd like a phone call, and you get a response in like 2 minutes.

It is not a proper panic unless you also have alcohol. Please, try harder next time. Slacker.

Alcohol is for morning panics. The liquor cabinet is empty by midday.

Status: decided to give "cloud gaming" a try.
After some research, turns out there is exactly one such service available today: https://liquidsky.tv/
It works very well actually. But 70ms between here and Frankfurt means it's useless to meI could try Amazon EC2 or Azure, but since the closest datacenter they have is also in Frankfurt, I don't think there'll be much a difference

Putting together wardrobe for this weekend's wedding.
I'm going to try something new.

Untried territory:Expanding your horizons is usually good for fashion.
Vest
God, yes.
No suit jacket (fuck that, it's an outdoor wedding)
No suit jacket + vest still looks great
French cuffs
Look great with some good cufflinks
Ascot
More interesting than the usual boring half-windsor solid color necktie
On cursory inspection, looks like you're set to have a great outfit for the wedding. Good luck.
Also for a cream shirt and a navy/orange ascot, I think the navy pants and vest would be better than black, but both should be good.

70ms is pretty much nothing.
30 may be ideal, but FPS games are even slightly playable at 150ms. I mean, I guess it'd mean you could only play games with 30ms ping, since you'd have to deal with input lag, but... even so 70ms sounds acceptable.
-
@Magus On FPSs running in your computer, ping is much less visible because it gets masked by the game engine. Local movement is still instantaneous.
Here it actually means 150ms between moving your mouse and seeing the screen move, which is pretty annoying for action games.
-

Seriously considering sending this in reply, just to dick with them:
-

150ms
No it doesn't. Ping is symmetrical, 70ms ping is 70ms ping.
-

Wouldn't be surprised if that service runs on EC2 internally.
I have like 18ms to Frankfurt datacenter, but...
You're 221,676 in line to get approved for a free trial in our beta.
...yeah, maybe I'll retire by then.

I'm just waiting for them to release the server code to public so we can run our own.
It appeals to me to be able to game on my tablet at work from my PC at home...
-
@Magus Yes, you're right (god dammit that blush is supposed to represent embarrassment not smiling like an idiot). It still doesn't feel instantaneous.
Plus they say it themselves

I had that same message. I went to "my account" or something and it told me to just run the program, and the trial started immediately .
-
@anonymous234 said in The Official Status Thread:

Plus they say it themselvesYeah, 70ms input lag would be frustrating... but it'd depend on the game. As always, it wouldn't matter at all for anything turn-based, and even RTS wouldn't typically suffer much. (Especially SC2's mutated co-op last week :D:D)
-

Good for you, I only get the usual referral shilling:
I guess if someone wants to try to wait it out, here's the reflink.
-
@Maciejasjmj Try downloading the client directly: https://liquidsky.tv/latest.exe . It will probably work. You don't actually have to give it administrator access when it asks.

@Maciejasjmj That sucks. You could always try the AWS

machine image if you really want to.PlayStation and Nvidia both have streaming services too, but they require buying their custom hardware .

Honestly I just want to see if it's viable, my machine is beefy enough to run most games without crashing and burning.

Status: So in the highest XP areas in this digimon game, a group of three enemies drops around 6k hp. With a team of two PlatinumNumemons and something powerful, with one of the PNs carrying three Tacticians' USBs, I was getting 30k XP per battle. Just now, I set up a party of three PNs, with 3 tacticians on one, and two on another. I got 70k XP from a lower level area.
