The last post by "pelrun" struck me as particularly apt:
Do... do you worry about whether the cow the regular milk came from was pretty?
The general reaction seems to be that drinking some random woman's breast milk is "disgusting." With a huge swerve into a, "It depends on whether she was a 6 or above..."
Even my first reaction was in the realm of: "Ewwww...!"
But then we come back to the pelrun comment and, seriously, is it worse to drink milk from a random woman than from a random cow? Perhaps a cow that is a "5 or below"? Think about it: Cows and humans are mammals; the formula is different, but the fundamental design...is the same.
Hmmmmm....
I think maybe a few Disgust-O-Meters need adjusted, not excluding mine.
I mean, think about it...do you know where eggs come from?

@Maciejasjmj
go vegan?
-
Milk disgust has more to do with anti-cannibalism instinct than anything woman related.
-
@cartman82 so if they are hot you are less of a cannibal?

-
@Maciejasjmj There is a difference, though.
Just like there's a difference between vegetarianism and veganism.
-
This is relevant to my interests. In a strange turn of events, a fic I'm reading actually has one of the characters selling new product which contained the milk of one of her friends (probably don't need to read, it's... Strange).
Apparently the resultant product was richer and tasted better than previous offerings...
Edit: darn syntax...
-
My gut instinct is that it's a mechanism to ensure we don't stay dependant on parent-provided nutrients... though I'm not sure if there's any actual research anywhere to back any of this up.

Please, who do you take me for? That's why I said "teen" explicitly.
As in "thir-teen".
-
@Maciejasjmj out of 10, you sick bastard
-
@Jaloopa... Oh. Um, yeah, that's what I meant. 13 out of 10, yeah.
-
@Maciejasjmj high standards indeed.
I did think I should put a pre emptive "out of 10 you sick fucks" on the original, but decided people would Shirley tie it in to the OP talking about how hot the woman would need to be
-
-
Since I'm disgusted by milk overall, breast, cow or otherwise, I'll go with a simple "because it's milk".
-

So a suckling baby is committing cannibalism? Wow, that's a stretch. I think your comparative needs work.
-
Because it tastes like drinking pure evaporated milk. Way too much fat.

And almost all women don't like to swallow, so that just proves the point.

It's disgusting, but it's irrational disgust. Both can be true.

Kind of, right? No, I agree with @cartman82 there. Eating something from an animal is...well, the animal is just food. Who cares? People are a whole different thing. We have intimate relationships with people, and that makes it kind of weird. Pets get in on this action, too, which I'd say is why so many people have such a difficult time thinking about dog meat ("tough," according to my source).

If you're attracted to them, then it's more of a kinky sex thing. If you're not, it's either a) doing a kinky sex thing with someone you're not attracted to, or b) not a kinky sex thing, in which case cannibalism disgust takes over. Either way the reaction is usually "ew"

There are some mothers who breastfeed their children way beyond the point when they should. And neither party considers it particularly strange.

@Gąska Please tell me that article is satire.
Because of the sexual repression of women, there’s little information on the sexual nerve receptors in the nipple and the rest of the titty
Bullshit.
but when a baby sucks on a woman’s breast she experiences a bit of sexual pleasure. When a man does it, she receives even more pleasure because the breast is sensitive to facial hair, and now that my son Mason is old enough to grow facial hair, our breastfeeding sessions have become even more pleasurable for me.
If that person actually exist, she should be in jail. She just openly admitted to abusing her child for her own sexual pleasure.
-
One difference is that shop-sold cow milk is pasteurized, while her milk probably is not.
-
@asdf said in Why is it "disgusting" to drink breast milk?:
abusing her child for her own sexual pleasure.
Whether it's abuse is debatable, but it's very probably illegal where she lives to have sexual activities with her underaged kid.
-

@Yamikuronue said in Why is it "disgusting" to drink breast milk?:

Having any kind of sexual interaction with an underage person dependent on you is pretty obviously abuse. You are abusing your power as a parent. That's why it's illegal pretty much everywhere in the world, regardless of whether the child has reached the age of consent or not.
-
@asdf while breastfeeding on his age is embarassing, having his mother in jail would only make this child's life worse.
-
@asdf Hmm, good point. I often forget that most people have that sort of dynamic with their parents. Objection rescinded.

Let's not forget this sentence from the article:
Because at the end of the day, it’s my body, and it’s my choice, and I don’t care what the state or the manager of Kohl’s or even what Mason has to say about it – I’m going to keep breastfeeding my son in public because I’m a mom and moms have rights too.
Creepy. Seriously creepy.

Nah, but as they get hotter, the pervert overpowers the anti-cannibal in ya.
Still a cannibal, just a perverted one.

@aliceif Yes the former irritating when ordering take-aways though I don't really have a problem with it. The latter usually comes whats the whole world to bend to their whims , tends to say crap like "having a pet is slavery" and likes telling you why they don't eat any animal products ... while completely disregarding a lot of the time that not that many people can actually lead a vegan life style healthily.
As for the topic, this seems to be more in the fetish thing rather than anything else, none of my business what people are into as long as everything is legal.
Slightly off topic, I had a work mate of mine who used to send me videos of his lactating wife because she was sending these pics to some geezer in Canada, it was some sort of revenge. To be honest she suffered from epilepsy and had an autistic kids and couldn't drive or go really anywhere due to her condition. So she was pretty much the definition of bored housewife (an trapped) and my mate spent most of his time working or coming home and then playing EVE online which didn't help.
Now normally I wouldn't turn down pics of a nice rack (she was a good looking lady), but I spoke to both of them on a regularly basis, and felt that I shouldn't be looking at some sort of revenge porn. I told my friend to stop sending me these, because I didn't feel comfortable being involved in what was a problem with their relationship.
He kept on sending me them, usually when wasted and ignored me so I just deleted them when he sent them. One day he sent the pic to my phone from her phone and not his. I didn't have a pin lock on my phone (I still don't bother), so my Girlfriend checked the phone and saw that this woman I regularly saw (I used to work near their house) was sending me pictures of her breasts. Thank God that I hadn't deleted some of the previous mails he sent from the recycle bin.
EDIT: Clarity and Background

This kid is growing facial hair and still breastfeeding. How much worse can his life get? His mother being in jail can really only improve his life at this point.

Too often, there are laws against fetishes, so I'd say that anything safe, sane and consensual (this does imply informed consent from all people affected) is none of other peoples's business, even if there is some law against it (such laws should die in a fire).
-
@Khudzlin I have the opinion as long as it is consenting adults what you do is your own business when you aren't in a public.

When my wife was pregnant with our first child, the doctor said "when your kid comes home with a friend and offers a snack, that's when it's time to quit breastfeeding".

You bring up a good point, in a roundabout way. What she did was likely extremely illegal.

Slightly less roundabout question: would it still be "likely extremely illegal" if she wasn't enjoying it?
