So the wage gap doesn't exist, as long as you exclude the set of women who make less money than men?
Now I know you're not so dumb as to actually believe that.

There are people who have a "fight to the death" belief in their right to pay anyone what they want, even if there's not a streak of fairness in the way that is done. Like everyone else with an ax to grind, they twist the statistics to support their position. The easiest way to do that is to exclude any data points that run counter to your argument.
The best part is that then they accuse the other side of doing what they're doing.
In politics, this type of nonsense is considered a good idea.

The joke's on you.

That looks like a really expensive way to avoid the extra 5 seconds it requires for everyone to just put their chair back where it belonged.
Or hell, just grab a chair and sit down. Jamming them under the table looks neater, but it's wasted motion because you just have to pull them back out to sit down.
-
"And in conclusion, this has been a powerpoint presentation about things. Thank you"
*people clap*

Weight sensor in the chair so it can tell if someone's sitting in it. If your car can have one, why not?

True.
The thing about expensive things is they often get less expensive with time, so I wouldn't be surprised if this was a commonplace item in 20 or 30 years.
Or they could just be all-purpose robots. Drag the chairs back in place, transport stuff to a different room...

Slightly NSFW.

So...are they connected to the Internet, so we can command this behavior remotely? So we can track everyone's weight (grats to @anonymous234 )? Detect who had an attack of the vapors? Determine if everyone in the meeting is awake (and if not, taser them awake)?
Inquiring minds want to know these things.

If we're adding tasers, they should also restrain your arms and legs to make sure you can't run away. And then we can add more fun stuff.
(I may or may not have one or more fetishes involving robots and bondage)

Can we also taser the farting guy?
Explosion hazard?
Sounds like an extra bonus! Fire up that asshole!
I bet the burning will also help in clearing up the air.Bonus meeting game: launch yourself through the faux ceiling.

The table is the docking/charging station?

Fire up that asshole!
Am I supposed to read this figuratively or literally?
I believe the traditional expression is Fire in the hole!
-
I think we can agree that if we're going to give them speech synthesis, they should sound like Daleks.

Where's the bacon?

Great, and now I'm hungry. Thanks a lot dickhead! ;-)

I'm sorry, the Good Ideas thread is .
From time to time I needed to lay temporary cables, microphone lines and such, at my last job. This would have been...miraculous.
-
Ouch: $269
-
Gaff tape is $25 a roll, so that isn't that expensive if you actually use gaff tape all the time.
-
I have seen it before and I remember some other movie where they had two guys switch between the tool and taping cable by hand. Both were convinced that it'd pay off.

I used to do LAN parties when they were a thing. So much time spent taping down network cables, this would have been amazing. Need a device to remove it again though, that took almost as much time.

Wouldn't it be cool if you could run it in reverse?

I suppose you don't make your bed either.

I just love it when science reinforces your bad habits.

Ouch: $269
But it can save you from having to bend over while doing the taping, and it does a neat job too…

Why?

Even more like: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0343660/. I thought the movie was bologna because amnesia doesn't work like that, but TIL it can.

It still is bolognese, but because of Adam Sandler.

Have you met r10pez10? He pretty much only posts images.

-
Oh, no! It's the Tao of Kidnapping!
-
All the ones I've come into contact with have been intelligible :)
-
Then could you explain what [image of "We don't know And not knowing is the first step"] has to do in the good ideas thread?
-
Sure.
He posted an image from lifehacks, containing a suggestion he thought was a good idea.
Lorne Kates asked him why you would do that.
He replied "We don't know, and not knowing is the first step", which is clearly a cheeky way of saying "dunno. just thought it was cool."
