In the discoverse, nobody uses Discourse wrong
-
Does that mean that in the Discoverse is horribly bored with nothing to do?
-
No, he's free to bikeshed and remove colours all day long. It's a magical place
-
I assume the Discoverse is through The Scary Door?
-
and beyond the Land of Rape and Honey
-
It's really more because in the Discoverse, nobody can hear you scream while you try to use Discourse.
-
Someone's slacking on the Wikification!
-
I noticed that, too. *cough* @abarker

I blame @aliceif and @Yamikuronue! They aren't doing their jobs!
-
Also, wikification is not guaranteed. :P
-
Wikification is next to gentrification.

Discontainment
I'm not really sure this one qualifies as a discodefinition. Part of it is that the definition claims that containment relies on Discourse, but it really relies more on staff. Discourse may be moody and temperamental, but it isn't intelligent enough to corral fragmented topics on its own.
-
No, it does rely on Discourse, because the containment both does and does not exist even after the staff has applied Discontainment.
See this thread ofdiscussionDiscourse.
@loopback0 said:So I got a notification for a moved post and it took me to the "moved" post still in this topic.
-
Meh, I'm not convinced, mainly because containment isn't a discourse thing, but then I don't always make the Discopædia decisions based on my opinion. I mainly brought it up here to try and foster a discussion, see what other people think.
-
Well, DiscoJeffed seemed like a poor name for the phenomenon, namely because
ERR_RECURSIVE_DEFINITION
, even though it would be a more accurate description in another sense, as the issue is with Jeffing, a tool used to accomplish containment, rather than containment itself.
-
Yeah, not sure on the word but more effort went into the definition than a lot of the others so I gave it a like.
-
effort
Finally, my effort has been recognized!

Also, Discontained has the added bonus of being a somewhat valid use of the prefix "dis-"

Also, Discontained has the added bonus of being a somewhat valid use of the prefix "dis-"
And that matters because … ?
-
Stop trying to appropriate our Discoculture!
Edit: Post 666?

Yeah, not sure on the word but more effort went into the definition than a lot of the others so I gave it a like.
Problem is that so much effort went into the technobabble that it sucks the fun right out of it.No, it does rely on Discourse, because the containment both does and does not exist even after the staff has applied Discontainment.See this thread of discussionDiscourse.

Maybe change it to Disjointed? Because that notification is not related to the thread you are looking for...

Even if he's disrespecting us, nobody cares.

Help! Help! I'm being marginalized and my feelings aren't being validated!

@Fox sucking the fun out of things?! Shocking.
-
Except this time it's his own ...
Oh, this is overloading the Giggity counter.
-
Help! Help! I'm being marginalized and my feelings aren't being validated!
It's OK when he does it because it's for a good cause.
-
Help! Help! I'm being marginalized and my feelings aren't being validated!
That's it! I'm cancelling the DiscoYoga class.
@Fox sucking the fun out of things?! Shocking.
That reminds me. Do we have a Discofinition for "BraFox" yet? cc:@blakeyrat

Discomobile
I had to add to this definition when I added the tweet today. The temptation was too good to resist.

Minidisc Horse Racing ()
Does this really deserve its own definition, or would it be better served as an addition to the Dischorse definition?
[poll]
- Own definition
- Just add it to Dischorse
- I don't get it. The second one, I guess?
Counts as vote to add to Dischorse - Wait, we can make new definitions‽ Let it be!
Counts as vote for own definition
[/poll]
-
It's different because Dischorse ≠ Minidisc horse racing, floppy disk carousel horse, etc.

By that argument, each version should get it's own discodefinition, which is just tedious. Really, they are all just graphic representations of Dischorse. So what if the names of the emojis involved parse out to something a little longer?
Look, I'll leave the poll up until I remember it sometime tomorrow. Whatever the votes decide, that's how it'll go. Don't worry, the post in the Discopædia thread won't get deleted, but it may not get wikied and index as an official discodefinition.
-
It's got a lot of likes. It should stay :P
-
Ok, it got three extra days (I got busy over the weekend, plus I fell off a ladder). Here's how the votes look:
So, sorry, not getting a discodefinition of its own. But we'll add the emoji stuff to the Dischorse discodefinition.

Hurtful. I've got the bruise on my hip to show for it.

have a like as compensation

and another.

I was having trouble deciding. It's a state, I think, but the way to get to that state is a (lack of) an action.
I'm not good at english!
-
Verb works better.

Verb'd by popular request! ;)

On the wrong phone, because iPhone.
If only we had a discussion topic for the Discopædia...or the definitions were editable ;)

Also, what the shit?

But that would/wouldn't be depending on raisins. :|

It's quoted in the OP, so Dickspores counts the OP as a reply to the 234th post.

Is that also why your reply to my post is 2 posts above my post?
(sorry for shitting up the thread-- just-- Discourse-- I don't even know anymore)

BTW, why hasn't 'belt onion' been added yet? Does anyone else here think this is worth adding? I won't add it unless I have some consensus, because I don't want to be an asshole.
Onion
noun- An object that old farts attach to their belts, because reasons, or maybe just tradition - they don't remember, and don't ask so many questions, dagnabit. Often seen when shooing kids off of lawns.
- Something added to varnish. No one remembers why. The canonical example of an action that had raisins at one time, and continues to be done even now, but which is long since obsolete to the point where no one remembers why.
