No. No!In what world is concatenation of symbols equal to exponentiation? I mean, I get interpreting

E_CAN_REPRO

, my actual input was quite a bit larger and I nearly didn't see it misinterpreting it like that. So I guess I got lucky. If I hadn't seen it, it would have taken me quite a while to find out why the result is wrong.

Oh, btw, your old apps won't run anymore."

So, since mac applications usually don't come with installers/uninstallers (a good thing when they're actually fully contained, bad otherwise), how is the average mac user who just deletes the .app folder supposed to clean that up?
Unless they happen to suspect it's different and look for the relevant page on the Steam site? They're not.
I assume there's tons of stuff in there somewhere.
The
steamapps
folder where games are installed, for one.

One of my monitors at work shows a "non-recommended display mode" warning every time it wakes up from sleep mode. It helpfully offers "Recommended: 1920x1080 at 60Hz" as a better option
... while it's displaying a 1920x1080 60Hz screen. The message goes away when I hit the menu button on the monitor

You should eat at least 5 servings of fruit and vestigials every day.

@Tsaukpaetra The meaning of working directory for starting a process changes depending on UseShellExecute flag.
Maybe, but since it's not
ShellExecute
ing the XML file, there is no flag, and the working directory (which is assumed by the running application to be its own directory) is not so fast.

indeed.
Either tiny condoms or rather big fingers.
Also, lube everywhere now.

Disinfect your iPhone from coronavirus by putting it in a ziplock baggy of baby urine and microwaving it on high for 5 minutes!
Anyone want to make the PSA graphic for this and post it on 4chan? I'm

@Tsaukpaetra Then you'll be able to touch all sorts of elevator buttons!

@Tsaukpaetra In my experience they are kind of like USB in the sense that you need to turn them around three times until you get the correct side up.

Also, just like USB, the implementation is pretty messy.

TIL that in the kingdom of nerds, I seem to be the only one who knows how to use a condom.

@levicki I suppose that, if you accept the idea that a barrier made of a porous material can effectively stop the spread of virii that are more than an order of magnitude smaller than the pores in the aforementioned barrier material, it might end up being one.

@levicki said in WTF Bites:
@topspin You say that like knowing how to put it on is some sort of evolutionary advantage.
Yes, like many things in life, knowing how and when (and consequently when not) to do things is usually advantageous.

Are you saying condoms don’t work??As a birth control method, they work fairly well as long as they don't break. As a prophylactic against the spread of disease, though... not nearly as well as manufacturers would have you believe. (A sperm cell is a whole lot bigger than a virus, afterall.)

@levicki I really must know how you're managing to reply to posts so consistently without them being linked to the post you're replying to. The only way I know this happens normally is refreshing the page while composing or replying to the topic in general, but that's obviously not happening since you mention people as if clicking the
reply
button...

As long as you use them correctly (e.g. they “don’t break”) they absolutely are effective against STIs that are transmitted by genital fluids, like HIV. There are, of course, diseases that are more easily transmitted by smear infections, so a condom doesn’t help, but nobody claims that. That has nothing to do with condoms not being effective.

@levicki Right, the similarity of the topic reply button and the post reply button has always been a nuisance, but when one goes missing...
Just for future reference, could it be that those buttons are hiding in the post's triple-dots menu? I know that at least "reply as new topic" is in there...

It's not the

@levicki Oh, you're on mobile, that's different™.
Why do UI on mobile suck? I mean, they already suck by default because of the smaller form factor, but it looks like people go out of their way to make them even more terrible.
I see no reason to not have reply and quotes buttons near the vote UI, even if they were just icons.

@levicki said in WTF Bites:
it't the site that it is broken
Pretty sure it's just yours that is broken. My phone claims 412px wide resolution (sure, wider than an iPhone will claim, but still narrower than every media query in the CSS), and I see the post buttons normally. Even simulating an iPhone in dev tools and refreshing, everything shows up.
In the WTDWTF CSS, there are 29 selectors that touch ".post-tools", the container that holds "Reply" and "Quote". 28 of those are WTDWTF customizations, hiding the buttons in the Mafia categories and PBP RPGs threads for non-players. The one remaining selector is the NodeBB definition giving the buttons underneath padding and forcing the cursor to a pointer.
On the same vein, there is no NodeBB CSS touching the buttons directly, only WTDWTF customizations targeting the same categories/threads.
Have you checked your Custom CSS in settings? Did you set up a media query to hide them? And for Custom CSS, here is some I came up with to fix the pagination bar on iPhone X/11 back in November.
-
@levicki safari is
here. Especially mobile safari. It's the IE6 of the modern era. It does it's own thing in many aspects that usually make things suck for users and developers alike.

Judging by the screen size what you are using is a phablet, not a phone.
Nope! Traditional 5.5" phone here! I just told it I don't use my sausage as the input implement and am not a kid who can't handle more than five visible words at a time.
