@loopback0 I was under impression that Edge will be closer to Chrome than to Chromium?
You really thing Microsoft will allow Google that close to the internals of their browser?
Well obviously they will because chromium, but integrating with actual chrome type code? You know the stuff Google doesn't put in the open source chromium repo?
If they were willing to Rename Edge to Chrome I'm sure Google would be happy to accept stacks of cash from Microsoft to bundle their browser.... beyond that.... yeah it'll just be yet another skin on top of Chromium.

Early car models have more design and systematic issues that later models. And once you start tuning a car, it becomes delicate and easy to have issues.
It's always funny when people claim that cars are like something with magically less bugs than software, because that's simply not true. If users can get around getting used to quirks of their car, why can't you do the same for softwares? Oh wait, typical users does get used to inconveniences, it's only you snowflakes who complain about every tiniest details

Well, then that's the real issue. Either the config was , or it can't be configured in the first place, which is a lack of feature.
In any case, scheduled update or not, there are ways to not inconvenient the users. Not doing the established practices is .

Generally if I bought a car that required a software update I'd need to take it to the dealer and wait around for someone else to download the update.

Yeah. Just like no major IT company would ever grossly neglect security and get hacked as a result, right?
Have you read the technical analysis of the Toyota embedded software that was done when they had "unexpected acceleration" problems several years ago?
Or chatted with someone who does this for a living?
Or just read the multiple articles about how easy it is to hack connected cars?

What's the difference? In both cases they obviously don't know better and if they do they don't care. If don't knowing things could be better or knowing but not caring enough to ask for a change is what you aspire to in life then I have nothing further to add except that I don't belong to that group and that such mentality is what lead to current USA political situation.
