Amazing fan work:

This guy's presentation is spot on, and everything he mentions is even better because of it.

The guy in the following video speaks broken English, but as a Czech artisan he can sure be forgiven.

shame about those other 60 seconds.

@accalia I'd rather do the whole set of six lectures the way they were intended (fortunately I've got them all in a DVD box set).

It appears there's a new facility being built in the area!

While drifting, like BMW M cars, is normally for wankers... I still think this is cool.
The Epic Driftmob feat. BMW M235i – 02:02

Typical BMW drivers. Not a single turn signal.

@loopback0 This is cool, but the director or whoever put the film together managed to make it totally crap. It's a nice synchronised performance, give me wide shots where I can see what's happening, not crappy half-a-second close-ups of a clouds of smoke, I can't tell what the cars are trying to do and whether it's nice or not! E.g. the lining up at 1:05-1:10, you can vaguely guess what they did from the final shot, but the individual shots are no more spectacular than a single car drifting alone.

The meat of the explanation is at 0:57.
Simple and effective, as genius ideas usually go.

@remi
Obviously, they're using the close shots to hide the fact that they're splicing together dozens of different takes with hundreds of different cars because of all the ones they totalled trying to make the scene.
-
@izzion Well, that was bound to happen with BMW drivers...
-
This is amazing:

-
@boomzilla Wow, amazing.
I don't have sound here, but seeing where it's from I read that with David Attenborough's voice, that fit so well that either he is the one narrating it or he has left such a mark on the Beeb's nature shows that everyone has copied his style...
Also, the end is begging for spoof version where the circle of sand opens to reveal some kind of Sarlacc mouth x-D

@accalia The youtube page itself says it's only 5:59.
-
@loopback0 I noticed she didn't get very far, beyond clicking on an icon. And I wonder if a typical person who'd never used a computer would even get that far that quickly without instruction.

I'm quite impressed with the quality this hacked-up hardware can get in playing back MIDI:
