No, republic is actually meant as a type of government, contrasted with monarchies.
By you. But sure, keep trying to be the language police on a foreign language. I'm sure this will turn out well for you!
Republic has always meant "not a monarchy", in every language. Don't be silly.
I've always been amused that it's the lefties in Australia who match up with the righties in America on this particular topic.

@Rhywden Sorry, whose votes are being suppressed? Non-citizens, convicted felons, or people who are too stupid to figure out whether they might fall into one of those categories?
Remember how you got very upset about how unfairly they treated the convicted felon who got probation for waving an imitation gun around in public?
-
@LaoC I remember that some communist state in the northeastern US made it a felony to have constitutional rights. Is that what you're referring to?

Keep the garage door closed. And don't run the engine for a long time either; we're not keen on suicides…

This can be done with differentials, but it would take a lot of them.

I'd guess that they simply connect them to a common axis using belts, and rely on the limited torque of each individual motor and the elasticity (and maybe slipping) of the transmission belts.

I hope that company gets sued into oblivion.

There are cogs that will do slipping.

Try explaining the existence of torque-limiting gears to a 6-year old. Their persistent takeaway is "so these gears suck".

For those that CBA to RTFA:
Keller said his dog, Jimbo, was also locked in a bedroom, sitting in his own urine, acting terrified.
"It was just, just a total mess and I can only imagine what poor Jimbo saw in there," said Keller.

This turned a funny story (not for the protagonist, but for the reader) into a really sad one.

I want to focus on three main problem areas that I think are the ones that I would like to highlight. The ones that I think are most worthy of our attention.
The first one of these is what I would call the Agile Industrial Complex... and this imposition of one-best-way of doing things. That's something we must fight against.
The second problem is the lack of recognition of the importance of technical excellence to what we do.
The third thing that I want to stress is the importance of getting rid of software projects as a notion.
All those managers, making us do work. we want to be Agile snerk

To quote Martin Fowler (with as much context as necessary to make him say what I want):
"We should get rid of software projects".
Couldn't agree more.

I'm glad my dogs are incapable of speech (and that Dr. Dolittle doesn't exist IRL).
