46 in one. Jesus.
Specification says "Micro Driver, DS, SDHC, Mini SD, MMC, RS-MMC, MS, MS-DUO, MS PRO DUO, MiniStick, Memory Sticl Duo, Memory Stick Pro, T-Flash, M2". Which first, has at least two typos, and second, is only 13 types, and that's counting minor format variations as different types. I'd like to see the other 33.

@DCoder don't you want to connect through the connection to nest connections for extra privacy? Double-encrypted data is more secure!
This post has been encrypted using double ROT-13.

@PleegWat cheapskate. You should be using 2^256

It took nearly ten seconds to "hang up". Holy fuck!
Why does hanging up need to be a modal action? Why can't the call UI go away while it hangs up?
Because while it's "hanging up" the call is still active and they can hear you and you can hear them.
It also shouldn't take longer than a second but...

Oh, the call is certainly disconnected. Just, the UI decides it wants to hang up for a bit.

That is not actually a multiple of 13 (or 26).

Muting the speaker/microphone shouldn't take longer than a nanosecond. Then actually disconnecting the call can take however long it wants.

@topspin it was a suggestion for number of rounds.

@anonymous234 : it's like those old pirate cartridges:
In reality, there are at best 50 (or so) unique games in them. The rest are either minor variations or straight duplicates.

I wonder if anyone will ever market Minecraft as 4294967296-in-one.

Thinking about ditching my android Motorola z2 phone and going back to windows Lumia 950... Android bugs the crap out of me.

I know mocking audiophiles is too easy, but this time they outdone themselves:
http://inearspace.com/2015/01/19/audiocadabra-optimus-usb-cable-orthus-the-two-headed-monster/Besides looking terribly sloppy, the lack of shielding and the haphazard wire twisting means this thing has significantly worse signal integrity than even a bargain-price standard USB cable. (Just for laughs, I'd like to measure it to see how bad it is.)
But the guy reviewing it is convinced it made his system sound better. Of course.
-
@Zerosquare thanks for finding something from my current year. Maybe the loss makes it sound better to him? I think the favorite term is
warmer
?Edit: no
warmer
but there's adarker
and apparently the cable does some phase shifting.
-
Oh, I'm sure it does lots of things to the signal. It's just that none of them are good.
With an analog cable, you could argue there's a chance the difference would make it sound better to someone, even if it's really, really unlikely to happen.
But that's a digital cable. If it alters the signal significantly, it will either sound exactly the same (if the error correction manages to compensate) or sound really bad (otherwise).
-
@Zerosquare I like some static, myself. Not sure what the artifacts would sound like from random signal destruction by using the cable as a funtenna (it's like an antenna, but just for fun!). No though, this guy is doing fascinating things with self-hypnosis and I wish him well.
-
@Zerosquare "This mixtape sounds way better when I play it on frayed wires going through a pool of gasoline. It's risky, but I've gotta do it for the audio koala tea!!!!1!"

Hey, at least it demonstrably isn't discriminatory, so you can be assured there's no hidden internal ignore list, right?
-
-
@dkf no, that would be
2 ^ 256
, but that would work just as well here.
-
@Gribnit ^ is commutative, dingus.
-
@pie_flavor I didn't change the order. I changed the font from one where I'd expect the ^ operator to mean exponentiation, to one where I'd expect the
^
operator to do XOR.In other news, could have sworn someone was using '^' for concatenation, which also would have worked. But the closest was Oracle with
||
.

Do you also make fun of the sun being bright and the night being unusually dark?

If you meant 2256, why didn't you just write it?

You used to be able to abuse the
[color]
“tag” for that sort of thing back in the bad old pre- days. Or was that on the main site?

I have CSS in the handy dandy "custom CSS" box in my profile that changes the font. But only for me. :(
It says that it can be read by moderators, though, so you could abuse admin to go see what it does...

You mean the frame that didn't expand (not its width, anyway) when I increased the size of the textarea?
Nah, I kinda like that.
Besides, I wanted to include the part about mods being able to see it.

You'd think that Spotify being a swedish company they'd get swedish text encoding right at least.

I know it's not meant for end users or even power users, but man, the Windows registry is such an incredible labyrinth of meaningless names.
Just thinking of that stuff being there and being read every time I do anything makes me shudder.
-
@anonymous234 I make one or two edits to the Windows registry on a fresh install. One to stop Windows from installing third-party crap from the store without my permission (
SilentInstalledAppsEnabled
), and on a dualbooting system I also tell Windows that the system clock is in UTC (RealTimeIsUniversal
). So I don't understand what you're saying about meaningless names.
-
@Atazhaia You don't set
AUOptions
?
-
@pie_flavor The one that tells Windows Update how to behave? Well, I suppose I could if I end up having my computer do overnight tasks regularly. Until then I find it a moot point, unless Windows would go braindead and restart within active hours without my permission.
