if people really are in the habit of leaving their key fobs in the car(!) then I guess it would explain that part.
Also car keys (vice fobs) are not particularly high security. Many, many people have told me they've accidentally opened another car of the same make with their key before.
A few decades ago, there were allegedly only 16 GM door keys. More ignition keys, for some reason, but a 1 in 16 chance that your key would open the door of any random GM car.

I was expecting the video to end with him pulling out into the street and getting hit by a truck.

@El_Heffe Now I wonder: would 7-Eleven allow shopping karts like these?

I was expecting him to gun the engine and end up flat on his back. But I guess he's done that a few times already and knows to be careful now.

@HardwareGeek 4 bits should be enough for everyone?

First because it's "Infiniti", I mean seriously. At least spell it consistently, even if wrong.
Secondly because did the owner of the Infiniti not know the key fob WAS HIS CAR KEYS!? And, by extension, that he left his keys in the car all the time?
This explains the long lecture the Ford dealer gave me about how my RFID keys worked, as if I was a complete moron-- they probably HAD a complete moron not get it in the past. One thing that irritates me about the new cars is the automatic door unlock.
I'm used to ensuring I locked the car door by pulling on the handle.

Maybe my sense of humor is different. I can be sad and laugh at the same time.

Correct, and correct. Was there supposed to be a problem somewhere?

By my count, two hamsters. One of green's hamsters, and one of red's hamsters.

@anotherusername I don't even get that one because Die Hard is literally a Christmas movie.
-
@boomzilla
Picnicknife to a gun ko. Put a threat on the board that matters, people. "Die Hard" is straight action, fine, fuckit, I don't care, let's get to the jraphics. This also means that Scala is pronounced with "a" as in "hay" vs "a" as in "father", even though Odersky was flat fucking wrong.
-
@blakeyrat Not really. Just many action movies are heavily disguised "It's a Wonderful Life" remakes.

jraphics, the jift that keeps on jiving.

Yeah it's an action movie but it takes place on Christmas Eve, so... it's also a Christmas movie. There's no way around that.
-
@blakeyrat Don't care. Taking the loss. Sometimes Christmas theming is an accident, like with "The Santa Clause".
-
@blakeyrat Sure, but so does the main plot device of Sleepless in Seattle.

@anotherusername Been there, done that. I recently assembled a custom guitar overdrive pedal and it didn't work. I put it aside in frustration, and then woke up in the middle of the night with the realization that I'd soldered the DC jack leads backwards...and I was right.
