Just flip them over. Might be a flash, but still better than nothing.

@ben_lubar "Is that good" is certainly a bit funny, but I think "Is that bad?" would not be a very unreasonable question to ask when presented with just the title of the article.
Reading the article it explains that indeed it is sort of bad, but I wouldn't say it is so obvious that even asking a question about it is ridiculous.

@obeselymorbid FWIW I'm with the (slight) majority and can't even imagine how one can hear Yanny, except in deconstructed records with lowered pitch.

<boring > It gives the warning whenever you cross an international border.
If you go to the neighbouring country it will say just
If you go through a country it names the country:
If you cross multiple countries it will say

If the prospective employer asks "what's IQ stand for?", run!

@ben_lubar Real-life employment advice: if someone ever talks about their IQ or if they hold a PhD and put it in their email signature, that person is a complete asshole and you should never hire them.

Is it funny because they got 0 votes? How long was the poll open, and did they do it on purpose, or what?

Unless they're working in academia... then it's to be expected. They might still be a complete asshole though.

You could at least have screenshotted one with B*****m.

Working in academia, asshole-ness isn't very well correlated with having a doctorate (but much more strongly correlated to the amount of stress that they're under). Demanding that people acknowledge it all the time… that's different.
Some people are jerks all the time. Most aren't, but then again most also aren't management…

Since I help run dog shows, I can also assert that these people have no common sense. At all. They're complete idiots outside of their field of expertise.
-
@dcon They're world experts in as little as possible, and nothing more.
-
@dkf In certain Social "Science" fields, they might be world experts in things that exist only in their imaginations. Like whether shopping bags feel oppressed by the gender of the person using them.

To quote Konrad Lorenz (among lots and lots of others it seems):
-
@pjh Which raises a philosophical question about scientists who have PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) degrees. Since they are, in some sense, both scientists and philosophers, do they have the knowledge of scientists or that of philosophers? Or do they merge the two, so that they (since they obviously don't know everything about everything) know nothing about nothing?

Fine... But switching the language used by Google Maps is so you get it in swedish.
