@m_adams Either the video doesn't have audio, or I have to log in. Both of which ruin it.

@pie_flavor Hmm...
Looks like onebox issues with facebook?
I can't now view (can hear, can't see) @masonwheeler's posted video...

I've been having troubles with that for at least a week. I have to explicitly open in new tab; just clicking the link makes everything disappear.
About the video itself, my millennial son was not amused. "I'm sure there are people like that, but most of us are not!"

I think that whether or not a millennial acts in that manner (as in the video) depends primarily on the parenting or lack thereof, and also the parents' parents particular "generation".
ISTM that more grandchildren of "Boomers" act that way, whereas if your parents were pre-WWII, your children who may technically be millennials, will be raised in a manner that precludes that behavior.
My parents were pre war (1933/1941, dad/mom) and my sister's children, while dumb-ass morons at times, don't have that entitled behavior.
But that's just my take and isn't even close to being a SWAG (it could be a TDEMSYR opinion).
-
@m_adams Part of the problem is that the is cut off at the bottom. There's a timeline, volume and some other controls, but we can't see them in the post.
-
@m_adams I do think that makes sense, whether or not it's true in general. In my case, I think it probably is.
I'm a late Boomer, and my parents were more influential in my life than my peers, for the most part, and in some ways I identify more with their generation than my own. They were products of the Depression — my dad was drafted before the war started, and he was near the upper age limit for the pre-war draft — and I show some of the same traits as them. Especially my dad. He was a hoarder — during the Depression, you didn't throw anything away, because you might need it someday and not be able to replace it — and it doesn't take close observation to see that I'm as much or more of a hoarder than my dad (but even less organized about it).
(This drove my ex-wife crazy. Her parents were born at the very tail end of the Depression and probably have/had no memory at all of it, and not much memory of wartime shortages. As a result, she was the exact opposite of a hoarder.)

I'm getting better, honest! I've mostly ridden the stores of stuff that's broken-but-can-technically-be-repaired-with-some-parts-and-time and lesser.
Next on the chopping block is "things that are fully functional but not truly usable in today's activities"...
-
@tsaukpaetra Back when I was actively involved in Ham Radio, I used to acquire things in the category "I'm not quite sure what this is, and I don't know whether it works, but someday maybe I can find something to do with the parts." I don't think I have much, if any, of that sort of thing any more — mostly not by my choice.

None of the facebook posts onebox for me at all.
(And actually clicking on the links facebook uses roughly 99% of my screen with sign up/in bullshit)

You can only do it twice with @topspin, because of the Pauli Exclusion Principle. Bottomspin or Charmspin might get you a few more.

Prior to the introduction of urinalysis as a job prerequisite, it was the programmers who did that more often than the users. Software quality has been in decline ever since. COINCIDENCE?!?!?!11!?

You see a bumper sticker that says "Users are Losers" and you have
no idea it is referring to drugs.
-
@m_adams Oh, I think I've seen this video before. Except with Will Smith and a Discman.
Or was it Christina Applegate and a makeup compact? Uhmm... maybe David Cassidy wearing a flashy medallion?
No, wait, I remember now! That Bob Denver bongo solo was great!
