On holiday in Spain, I was not expecting to find these in the supermarket...

-
@el_heffe Well of course. They caused holes in the ozone layer.

True.

Well, that thing is officially named "The Cooker", and is supposed to be a cross between a stove and a storage cabinet.

no, it's what happens when you confuse "the average millennial spends" with "combined, millennials spend a total of".

@polygeekery I was eating ramen before it was cool.

Indeed; I love when people correct other people in that tone and they're wrong too. Does the commenter really believe that the median millennial spends $96 billion on food?
-
@antiquarian Well of course. If it was cool it would have been sitting out too long.

That happens when you're paying for college yourself (1981-1985). Also stirfrys. My roommate and I could make one regular steak last about 3 or 4 meals (for both of us).

Pretty sure that makes you a vegetarian

I've been there, but I was actually talking about the expensive stuff they serve in Japanese restaurants.

It works best as a player character name. "Fuck, I healed all your pokemon to full health."

@heterodox
No, the commenter believes there's a few millennials out there that spend trillions on food, thus pulling the mean up to $96 billion, while the median is a much more reasonable lower number.

Of course. Cool Ramen is yucky.

Bah, I gave up deodorant when they took away my aerosol.

Forced Luddites of the world unite!
How come now they're pretty much requiring us to have "set-top boxes" to use cable just at the time when sets are too shallow to put the boxes on top of them?

@el_heffe United of Republic of Tanzania?
Reading the comments abut it being a long way down to scroll in a country picker, Don't you just press "v" and scroll up three places to get to USA?

Using that, I think pressing
1
8
2
might be faster...

I usually type 'u' and then scroll.
I freaking hate state dropdowns. I can type NY faster than the alternatives.

If the country picker doesn't default to USA then it's not a picker worth picking.

@codnghorror Hmmm....reminds me of the later (last?) Dune novels.

Well, living in a state that starts with A (albeit the last state that starts with A), that one isn't much of an issue for me. My pet hate for dropdowns is either age or year-of-birth.
Seriously, who are all these legions of five-year-olds who are filling out online forms that you have to cater for them by making sure they're in the part of the list you don't need to scroll to?

Well, for your first test flight, being able to get back quickly on sublight seems like a desirable property.
