Who hired @aliceif as an interior designer?

@xaade is there a language that uses
var
and allows multiplication to parse as a boolean? Because if there is I don't want to use itfakeedit: oh yeah, JavaScript uses
var
and allows any type to be any other type doesn't it

England did decapitate Mary I of Scotland, but she wasn't the ruling queen at that point.

@anotherusername yes, because 0 is not true or false, it's 0. If I ask you how many fucks you give and you say false, that makes no sense because false is not the same as 0. True and false are far to important to be treated as side effects of number based stuff.

The 'best' bit is, those two conditions aren't semantically identical:
JavaScript is weird.
!!x
is a common trick to force a variable to resolve as Boolean

I used to work with someone who uses false interchangeably with 0.
LRESULT SomeWinCallback(params...) { if (webebad) return false; ... return 0; }
Drives me fucking batty.

I think those twitches of you're's are increasing allot lately. This peeked my interest and I looked in to the matter, just to insure you don't loose consciousness or suffer a stroke. This is, of course, something we should of done much sooner.

That's a holdover from C (and probably earlier). x86 machine code treats them the same, so while he may have been semantically wrong, he wasn't technically wrong.

IIRC, x86 machine code doesn't even have "true" or "false". The closest equivalent it has are
JZ
andJNZ
("jump if zero" and "jump if not zero"), both of which are based on the value of the ZF (zero flag) from the flags register, and you can use a bit pattern to test a value, or just test the value itself, unmasked, or really any other operation that will result in the ZF being set.Oh, and
JE
andJNE
("jump if equal" and "jump if not equal") are exactly the same opcodes asJZ
andJNZ
, respectively.

Polling station staff cannot refuse a voter simply because they are drunk or under the influence of drugs. However, if the presiding officer suspects you are incapable of voting you will be asked a series of questions to determine whether you are up to the task of casting your ballot. If the voter cannot answer satisfactorily they will be told to come back when they've sobered up.
.. if the poll is still open of course...
