Status: Fixed a gnarly bug where an optimiser with two different types of string was managing to get itself into a proper state of doing utterly the wrong thing. It was just a matter of adjusting the exact notion of types in play, but it was just sneaky in how it fouled up weirdly.
Nicely, the change really didn't require a lot of lines of code. :)

Then a weird thought occurred to me: How does the system respond when the upstream token service expires, but this middleware is still confident that the token has not?

Looks like Google updated the Play Store "My Apps" screen, and I like it much better:

That sounds painful
Luckily, global Find-n-Replace seems to have worked just fine, so not that painful.
As an added bonus, I also adapted it so that cookie-based auth (heck, anything that's not Bearer actually) still works.

screw any site that uses Cloudflare. It's down more often than up.
Yes, Curious Cat-- a site that takes questions of ~1 sentence long and replies of ~1 sentence-- you really do need a distributed CDN to deliver what amounts to about 800 bytes of data.

Jesus fucktard monkey-- it's back up and I opened dev tools....
270 bytes of content.
Page size: 4.7k of cruft and shit.
Additional css and js libraries: over 1MB (and then the Cloudflare connection timed out again).
So you're using a CDN to distribute 1MB of shit you shouldn't need to display 4.7k of cruft to deliver 270 bytes of content, and the CDN is still doing a worse job than if you'd just hosted the connection yourself.
Fucking web 3.0.

Oh, and it takes 5 seconds to deliver and load that 1MB of data to display 270bytes of data.
5 seconds.
From a CDN.

Did you make any progress on the registration form yet? I don't see the registration request, and the last user to register was either @Unperverted-Vixen or @unperverted_vixen but I'm too lazy to go back and check.

STATUS: Troubleshooting an old Dell at my old job. My initial assessment is that the harddrive is dying. Running diagnostics to see if I can find the cause and maybe also fix it, or if I need to advise replacing the entire computer due to age.

@Atazhaia UPDATE: Linux from a USB is working perfectly. System diagnostics and harddrive self-test have found nothing this far. Issue with computer before was that it was running slower than I'd expect, but was still usable for the tasks it is used for.
This week had Windows Update installing updates, which had apparently failed necessitating System Restore to get Windows to boot again. Issue after that was the computer running so slow it's nearly unusable. Took ages to open the Resource Monitor which doesn't show any issues with CPU or RAM load. Harddrive access times were however constantly peaking.
So, either Windows Update fucked the system up and/or the drive is dying even if the self-test isn't showing anything this far. Will try cloning the drive once the current test is done.

Status: thought my notification filter userscript might be malfunctioning, because it was only showing unread notifications, and each time I read one it disappeared until finally only one notification showed up and didn't disappear when I read it. So I went to "all notifications" to check it out...
Nope, the notification filter userscript is working exactly as it should.
-
@anotherusername Sorry I guess? It wasn't my idea, I'm just following the rules.

@CarrieVS
So, with the Nuremberg defense, does that mean you Godwin the Vote Balance Thread?

@CarrieVS said in The Official Status Thread:

Nah, the whole point of my userscript was that I don't even see those notifications unless I go to "View all notifications". All the non-filtered, unread notifications showed up properly; they just disappeared as soon as I read them and I was puzzled by that until I realized there were newer read notifications that were pushing them out, but were then being filtered so I wasn't seeing them.

is now using 100% CPU. I'll let it keep at it for a while I guess and see if it calms down.

Stupid Chrome made the tabs wider and uglier a few versions ago. I noticed it right away because previously, I could see each tab's favicon, but after the change they became just too small to show it and instead showed the first letter of the title.
I've since closed some of the tabs

You know you can have more than one Chrome window to spread the tabs, right ?
