shiny is not necessarily a function of the outside of a thing (my current laptop is also matte with no-glare screen) it can also be a description of the insides.

Only 8 days until @CarrieVS stop reminding us how many days until she get her cast off

@TimeBandit
The real question is, can we spam the Status Thread at precisely the right rate so that the 64K post can be the de-casting celebration?

Yes, you did.

FFS when will I learn that most medicines don't work the same way with me?!

@anotherusername You mean, like a dice ?
No, that's when you chop something (typically some type of food) into approximately cube-shaped pieces.
If I chop food into exactly one cube shaped piece, is that called die-ing it?
Only if you put numbers on its faces and use it as a random number generator.
-
@anotherusername
Now that would be a meal to die for!

Depends on your definition of "just as good".
This is my list of requirements for a belt:
- Holds my trousers up
- Holds my trousers up
- Is a funky colour
By those criteria, those £4 belts are better than the £30 belt :P
@CarrieVS said in The Official Status Thread:
But is the excess length tucked in behind the belt instead of in front?
No, but that's what belt loops are for
I gave up on belts. Now I just buy trousers that fit.
-
@Tsaukpaetra said in The Official Status Thread:

Just because you aren't better, it doesn't mean you don't sound better.
-
@anotherusername I never used to wear belts, but then three months ago I was two stone heavier than I am now. And since I'm still wearing the same jeans, if I don't wear a belt too, they can slide over my hips with surprising ease.
-
@anotherusername said in The Official Status Thread:

I generally fit between two sizes of jeans, so the belt is needed or they sit too low.
-

Sounds interesting

@TimeBandit Not if you do not consider them attractive.

How should I know before I see them ?
That's why it "sounds interesting"
-
@Tsaukpaetra So in Kingdom Death Monster, the survivor I was playing had to tell a dream about
- A Giant Butt
- Running for your life
- Waking up, but you're still in the dream.
Needless to say, it was poorly told. He was ridiculed and had to get a nickname the next time we came back from a hunt.
His name is now "Wise Sneak of the Phoenix" Tiathan. "of the Phoenix" granted him, I think, +1 courage. It was definitely +1 to an attribute.
Sorry your dreams are scarier than that.

It's worth it to me to just buy new pants vs. the everyday hassle of putting on and taking off a belt.
And by "new pants", I mean used pants from the thrift store.

@TimeBandit My, you're eager to stare at my arse today! Of course, permission to stare at my arse isn't handed out to any Tom, Dick, and Harry: you'll need to woo me first ;)

Status: hate for Apple software increasing. I had to have my school laptop (an old 2012-era non-retina macbook pro) reimaged because it was kernel panicking every 20 minutes. After that, the new image has a slightly different version (ie 10.12.3 not 10.12.2), so the printing subsystem had fits. Wouldn't allow adding certain printers. While that was being fixed, I had a loaner. It was working well (sort of) until it stopped accepting my password.
How do you break the printer drivers on every point update? How do you bork things so bad that changing a computer name destroys the login account? WHY? WHY? PSDOIFHPSODIHFPOSIDHG#@(%&@#()$&%) fatal error encountered
-
@Benjamin-Hall
Glad to see that Apple has finally advanced to the Windows Vista days of operating system stability. Give it another 6 or 8 years and OSX might be as good as Windows 10
-
@izzion the best part about the printer errors? the complete lack of error messages. It just silently failed. It'd say that it completed correctly, but the printer would not show up in the list. Oh, and it was only some printers (all from the same manufacturer, but different models).

Actually I have zero such issues with mine even on a Windows domain but facts are barriers to jokes...
-
@loopback0 I've been here for 3-4 update cycles. Every time, I have to completely reload the printer drivers and re-connect to the network printers. It may be Canon's fault, but one way or another, it SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN.

@izzion said in The Official Status Thread:

I don't think OSX can regress that much.

Well gee I don't have a completed attributes table at the moment, so let's wing it!
At times you were complacent, even stated, you behaved
but oft to mass enragement, so belated, was the rave
you said to us uncaring, notwithstanding, who's to blame (ok it's getting hard to put those music notes in, pretend they're still there)
The power of doubt and offense was wrought, and caused you to escape...But here you are returned to us, to grant us charity,
Some time away from the trolley bus, did sooth your sanity!
Changes wrought for forum spot, a mischievous mentality.
We're glad you're back, to the What the Fuck family!(continue?. :) )

https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/venturi-world-s-first-always-adjusted-belt-design-fashion#/In my experience, if you are not spending at least that much, the belt will be of pretty poor quality. You can actually spend quite a bit more.
Cheap belts don't last.

Employees are currently experiencing a busy signal when trying to place outbound calls from their desk phone. We are working to resolve the issue and will provide an update when one is available.
Gee, an entire office unable to place outbound calls doesn't sound very productive. Might want to avoid that... (Also, the notification doesn't scope to a particular office so it might actually be all of them.)
Good thing I'm off-site (as always); sucks to be you, nerds!
