Well this is just, uh... a word no one can use anymore. The makers of Candy Crush Saga, who have famously pursued trademarks for the words Candy and Saga in the past, are stepping it up once again by registering a trademark for the word SUPER in video games.
This is going to end well. And then the murders began. -
RE: WTF Bites
@Jaloopa Awesome! So all you have to do is remove the
if (user.IsAdmin) {
part and boom! Implementation complete.

RE: WTF Bites
@RaceProUK The best compromise between security and convenience would be if the "Forgot password" link redirected you to a page where you entered your username and, if it is deemed to be a valid username, shows the user's current password on the screen. Then you can just copy/paste it from there back to the login screen without: (1) having to wait for the email to arrive, and (2) we all know plaintext passwords over email is insecure

It's a common South African expression. It means you are looking for trouble.

RE: America First
It reminds me of the movie Head of State, where the oppositions campaign revolved around the line "God bless America, and no place else" and everybody cheered each time he said it.

RE: No thread about the GitLab fuckup yet?
@Vault_Dweller Or rather, the fact that it wasn't implemented was the point of failure
-
RE: No thread about the GitLab fuckup yet?
@loopback0 It's a backup strategy, i.e. there was a strategy. Whether it was implemented is another matter.
-
RE: No thread about the GitLab fuckup yet?
@loopback0 I think "weren't even setup" falls pretty heavily under the definition of "failed"

RE: presented without payment for this thread
I would have been very surprised if it got it wrong. Although the "4" part is debatable...

RE: The bad jokes topic 🐴🍹👨
I rear-ended a car this morning.
So, there we were alongside the road and slowly the other driver got out of his car.
You know how sometimes you just get so stressed and little things just seem funny?
Yeah, well I couldn't believe it.... he was a DWARF!!!
He stormed over to my car, looked up at me, and shouted, "I AM NOT HAPPY!"
So, I looked down at him and said, "Well, then which one are you?"

RE: Fixing morale, according to management.
@asdf You have certainly never lived in South Africa, have you? At any given point in time (except possibly the December holidays) some or other union is on strike.

RE: Theatre WTF
@anotherusername We both printed our tickets online, no clerks involved. But the error you mention could just as well have been made by the system instead of a clerk.

That was my first thought as well initially. But alas...

RE: Theatre WTF
@thegoryone Both had online printouts of their tickets. The reference numbers were different, but the seat numbers were the same.

RE: Amazon's Just Walk Out technology
Here in Africa we have had a similar system for years, just without the app. You also just walk in, take what you want and walk out again.

Theatre WTF
I would be interested to know what exactly happened here.
Me, my wife and my parents-in-law went to watch a show at a theatre last Sunday (4 people). Just before the show began 4 other people came to us and asked if we were sitting in the correct place, as their tickets showed exactly the same seats as ours.We said yes, and they called the theatre manager to help resolve the situation. Note that all tickets are booked online. I wasn't involved in the resolution of it all, but some point during the process they asked my father-in-law for both his name and surname. I actually overheard the manager say "weird, they both have exactly the same name and surname".

If you want to expand the game, you can download 20 extra haunt scenarios here.
The site looks like ass, but the haunts themselves are quite balanced and well done (even better than some of the original scenarios). You might also want to get the revised scenario booklets from the publisher's website.
So, I got the game as you suggested (a while ago actually), and was not disappointed. This is not the reason I'm necro'ing this topic, however. The reason is this, if you are interested. I certainly am:

RE: RPG Interest?
@Yamikuronue It depends on @izzion. If he is going to run a game I will rather join his game. Otherwise I'm in
-
RE: RPG Interest?
@izzion Cool, then I will probably be in.
I'm not fussed about systems. However, I like the setup you mention, which focuses on puzzle solving and combat. Whichever system lends itself better to that, I would vote for.
-
RE: RPG Interest?
I would be willing to play, but it would all depend on when the questing times would be. I have seen from the Mafia games that I am usually active when the rest of the players aren't as active, and vice versa. I.t.o. classes, I am willing to play any class except rogue

RE: Easier Than Fizz Buzz - Why Can't Programmers Print 100 to 1? (article)
I was about to post a clever bit of code, but then I realised my progamming-fu is lacking, so I will just post the spec:
for i = 0 to 99:
if i = 0, create a new topic in nodebb with the topic "100 to 1", first post "100 - @index"
otherwise, just post to the newly created topic "100 - @index" -
